Fun weekend!!!!

Friday night, 15 of Kayla's good friends went to Terilli's to help celebrate her birthday and I had a Celebrity keep Cam! Lauren Parajon, a girl I've gotten to know and become friends with was introduced to me via her blog about a year and a 1/2 ago or so. Lindsay Hodges, my friend Heather's sister-in-law, came across her blog and forwarded her story onto some of her friends to read and I've been hooked ever since. Its about her life...She was living in NYC at a very young age, met her soulmate, dated long-distance, and is now engaged to be married to him! She has a tremendous gift and that is writing. The gift of being able to express yourself through words is a quality I've always dreamed of having and knowing someone who WILL be famous in this arena is so fun and exciting to me. And she was IN MY HOUSE!!! ;) She's beautiful, smart, loving, and hilarious!!! After reading her blog for some time, I read that she was moving to Addison and very close to me. Her email is on her blog so i just emailed her one day back last February. My husband thought I was crazy! Ha! My sis was coming to stay the weekend with me, is just as fascinated by her as
I am, we were dying to meet her, so I just asked her to have a drink with and and she did! She went to OU and nannied/babysat while there as well as here in Dallas so when she offered to keep Cam for us sometime I took her up on it! I will certainly use her again and thoroughly enjoyed getting to visit with her. She loves Cam and Cam loved her. She will be back not only as my babysitter but as my friend. Thanks for helping us out Lauren!

The beautiful birthday girl!!! Love you friend

The girls!!

We had Gary and Pat Coleman over for dinner on Saturday night and Brian and I attempted to make chocolate eclair. He did the bottom part and it turned out great. I did the topping and weeell.... Epic fail! The recipe calls for 2 SQUARES of chocolate and me and my Betty Crocker skillz just didn't think that sounded right so I went with 2 BOXES. Epic fail. B and I made a quick trip to Babe's for some banana pudding to serve. Thanks for coming out, Lin. Better luck next time.

We dog sat Debra's dog, Tucker, on Saturday night and Cam has a new BFF

Gary practicing for his new bundle of grandkid joy coming this fall! Their son and daughter in law are expecting a little girl and they are elated.

She is about to start cruising. Slow down baby girl... You're not supposed to be doing that yet! Makes me sad. :(

Thanks for a fun night, as always, Gary and Pat. The ciabatta bread was OFF THE HOOK!

Sunday morning we met my sis, Justin, and the Arrington's for brunch at Smoke and it was so good seeing them! I hardly are my sis anymore she's so busy with school so it was wonderful hugging her neck. They were in Dallas for the Coldplay concert. Miss and love you lots sis!!!
Cam and her Aunt Melly

Brian and I took a little drive after brunch and drove over our new Margaret Hunt Hill bridge. That thing is massive and pretty impressive!!

Heather and Brad asked us to the Rangers game on Sunday and boy did Brad have the hook-up!!! His company has season tickets and every once in a while he gets lucky. We were thrilled they asked us.... We had a great time! Little toasty but we were in the shade thank goodness! So fun ya'll!!!
This is how close our parking spot was to the ballpark! I've been to many Rangers games and NEVER parked this close!

Our seats. They did not suck! ;)

You can't see him buy George W Is down on the 1st row there sitting next to Nolan. Pretty cool!!! He had 2 Secret Service men by him 24/7.

If u look closely, there is a little old lady in a pink T-shirt holding a drum. She played that thing like it was going out of style. She would get everyone clapping and it was just the cutest thing ever! I wanted to squeeze her. ;). She was probably 85!!!

Thanks again y'all. Good times had by all! And thanks, Deb, for keeping Cam. You are the best!!!

Have a good week everyone!

Cam and Trisha

Ok so Cam is adjusting pretty well to Miss Debi and loves all the kids! There is an almost 1 year old, Gracie, who Cam 'plays' with and Debi says they have fun on conversations. ;). She's going to do great and Miss Debi is just so sweet to her. When I drop her off in the mornings she calls Cam 'Doodlebug!'. How cute is that?!?!? And when I get home
Cam smells like Debi, which is a wonderful smell, but it just assures me she's lovin' on Cam alot! And I LOVE that.

How cute is my friend, Trisha?!?! She's due in about a month and is serious motivation for when we try for #2. You look awesome girl and are truly glowing! ;) Can't wait to meet baby Hunter!!

A tough post....

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this post today. Back when I found out I was pregnant (Jan 2011) I emailed our homeowners association asking if anyone knew of recommended in-home daycares in the area as that was my top choice for Cameron once I went back to work. Two were recommended, one of which I interviewed but wasn’t what we were looking for and the other one was EXACTLY what we were looking for! Miss Debi. However, Miss Debi came with a waiting list. Did I mention, a LONG waiting list??!? The good ones always do, right? But, I still put my name down and told her to just keep me posted should a spot come open. Well, low and behold, a spot came open and Cam is able to start immediately. When we hired Juli, we agreed on a 2 week notice so I will compensate her through the end of the month, plus that will help her find a new job, but this is all still very bitter sweet for us. She has been there for Cam on many firsts, taught her lots of great things, shown her wonderful places, involved her in many a play group(s)…the list is endless. If we could keep Juli we would, but this in-home daycare just makes more financial sense for us, plus, I really want Cameron around more kids now that she’s older and has a stronger immune system. Juli has been the world to us and such an incredible caretaker for Cameron. We are going to miss her greatly. Thank you for everything Julianna Holden. The Herrings love you!

I dropped Cam off at Miss Debi's this morning and I just had that feeling we made the right decision. Something about Debi's demeanor, that loving look in her eye, the smell of her home, the fact that Cam gave her a kiss and not me, her 25 year history in the same house keeping children for all these years.... It just felt right. We will miss Juli but God simply placed his hand on my shoulder this morning and allowed me a sigh of relief that this is where Cameron needs to be. We love you already Debi!

Random but fun

This is just going to be a hodge podge post of stuff that's happened over the last week or so...
My team at work got me a cake for my 11th anniversary and well... When Whitney went to get it.. She ha a brain fart and asked for happy birthday vs happy anniversary. Haha! Regardless, still a sweet gesture and it was DEE-LISH!!! Thanks you Region 22!!!

My rockstar baseball player nephew, Ian. He's on the left. He will be EIGHT on September 15th!! Holy moly where does the time go?!?!? I swear it was just yesterday he was learning to crawl!!

Team Lunch at Mattito's: $130
Couple beers & a few swirls: $30
Bus boy lifting up an entire server-size plate of food he just cleared off the table behind us into the TV above him landing in Brian, Sean, Brendan, and Ben’s laps: PRICELESS!
(Notice the broken plate on the floor....This place looked like a war zone!!! Ben is super anal about everything and he was such a good sport. The poor bus boy was devastated!!! He felt horrible! The manager comped our meal AND gave Ben $200 in gift cards. That's customer service folks!!).

Cam LOVES to eat and not baby food anymore. REAL food! She's mowing down some rotisserie chicken, green beans, and carrots.

YouTube Video

Deb came over last night to swim and eat pizza. Deb gave Cam that suit when she was like 2 months old and it fits perfectly! So cute!!

My beautiful niece, London. Shes on the left and will be FIVE in October! Can you say mini-Melissa?!?! ;)

Have a good weekend, all

9 months and VIVA!!!!

This little munchkin is 9 months old!!!!! Oh how you have become quite the little crawler. You are getting so big and we think you are the most beautiful baby ever!! You weigh 20.3 lbs (75%) and are 30 inches long!! (92%). We love you sweet girl!!! ;)

At the Doctor for her 9 month check up. Dr. Berger says she's perfect!!!

This past weekend, The Pitts' joined us for a quick 60 hour weekend in Vegas and we had an absolute blast!!! Brian and I got a promotion from Caesar's Palace that included 2 free nights stay and 2 complimentary tickets to see Celine Dion on her first night back after a 4 month break. Her show was unlike anything I've ever seen before. I cried like 5 times. Sorry I'm a Celine junky... What can I say?!? ;) She is so beautiful and sounds just like her album live. She has such a beautiful voice and a body that wont quit! She changed outfits 7 times! Amazing!!! She covered Adele's 'Rolling in the deep.' So good!! Thanks for a fabulous weekend, Mr. and Mrs. Pitts. Another successful trip together. Here's to many more! ;)
My mother in law came to town with her two best friends to keep Cam and they had a blast with her. Lots of shopping and eating out. Cameron's two favorite things to do.
