I want to hold your hand

I take Cam to school pretty much every day, except Fridays, and there would be many times when I would reach back there and rub on her leg or hand and say I love you. Well lately, Cam has been trying to tell be something on the way to school and I wasn't ever able to make it out. Come to find out she was saying 'hold hand.' So, I do. And it's the best. My car is small enough to do this safely folks, I promise. B's truck? Not so much, but Mommy's car, yes. And so I will. These things wont last forever and there are many times this little drama queen of our's really can be sweet....makes me thank God everyday for her. The sun was right in her eyes so she's not looking at my but sure was saying 'cheeeeeeeese' behind her paci.

TGIF all!!!

Cheers,
Lin

Baby Slate and weekend in Friona

My dear friend, Mandie, had her baby boy Slate last Friday at 7:26 in the morning. He came very early but is doing remarkably well! Please please PLEASE lift her, baby Slate, and all of their family up in prayer as they watch this precious angel grow in the NICU. He weighed 2 lbs 14 oz and was 15.5 inches long. That's pretty big for a baby that was only 28 weeks along. Heres a pic of this sweet munchkin with his sunglasses on. ;). I cant wait to hold him!!! Mandie hasn't held him yet but hopefully soon!

We got an update from Emily, her sister and Slate is doing really really well! He came off the ventilator yesterday around noon which is a miracle! Babies this small or early don't usually come off the vent for a while so Praise God!!!! Mandie went home yesterday morning which was, as expected, really tough. They're going to start feeding him today. Mandie has been pumping like a champ and storing up lots of colostrum/milk for him so pray that continues to go so well too!

He had a bath just a few minutes ago and is doing tummy time as I type! His brain ultrasound looked good & his lungs are nice and inflated. They can touch him, take temp, change diaper, etc everyday at 8/12/4/8. She said that Mandie is probably going to work a few hours a day in a few weeks to stay busy and will take a total maternity leave when they get this munchkin home!! Everyone's ok, she said just its really emotional and everyone handles it differently. Keep praying!!!

I was able to go and hug Mandie's neck last Friday as we were planning to go to Friona for the weekend so B could play in their annual golf tourney with his dad so I took my own car and went to AMA first. I dropped off a bunch of food for them at mandies house then stopped by the hospital. We cried and laughed together and I'm just so glad I got to hold and see her. I can only imagine....
Yes, Cam was in the NICU but she was only 3 weeks and 6 days early, not 12 weeks early. But, Baby Slate is a fighter and will do great! He is an Ollinger for goodness sake! ;)

We had a super fun time in Friona and I even got to ride with the guys some Sunday morning. Amy graciously said she would keep Cam so I could go up there. Thanks Mamy! I hadn't ever seen B or Fred play golf so we had a great time!

Mamy's famous coconut cream pie. So good, words really can't even describe it. My thighs needed this like a need a hole in my head but it was totally worth it!!!

Getting ready with Mamy. ;). Love this pic.. So sweet.

Backyard water time once we got home last night. This kid loves the water!!!!

Please pray for Slate, and thanks for a fun weekend Mamy and Slick!

Have a good week, all!

High School Basketball

One of my teammates found this pic cleaning out the storage and it totally took me back. High school was some of the best years of my life. I learned a lot about myself & had incredible mentors of whom I will forever be grateful. Coach Wrenn, Coach Ford, Coach Evans, Coach Kendall, Mrs. Dennison, Mr. Wright, Mrs. Marshall, Mrs. Neff....

Thank you for believing in me and taking time away from your own personal lives to make a difference in each of our lives. We were juniors in this pic and came close to winning State both my Jr and Sr year. Unforgettable.
I can only hope Cameron has the same experience in school.

Cheers,
Lindley

Happy Hour, Running to Rescue, & Mamy & Slick

Friday night I met some LBB girls for HH and had a blast!!!!!! No pics but lots of visiting and catching up. Thanks for the invite BB!!!

Saturday morning Cam and I ran the R2R 5K race for her school's team and I am way out of shape! Whew!!! I ran it but I was hurtin'!!! Plus, pushing a big 'ole stroller with 30+ lbs of precious cargo didn't make things easier, but we did it! Doesn't Cam look thrilled?!?! ;). She did very well and loved it, actually. Not sure why the sad face.

Then Mamy and Slick were here on Sunday to keep Cam while we attended the very sad, sad funeral of Brian's dental assistant's son. He was 24 and killed himself. So very tragic! I've had a very VERY heavy heart about this and haven't blogged bc it's just so devastating!!! I can only imagine. Apparently, he was a lost little soul and is probably better off with Our Father but still! As the preacher said to Julie during the service: "parents aren't supposed to bury children. Children are supposed to bury parents." And he's so right. Again.... I can only imagine.....

Seeing Mamy and Slick was fun though bc they helped lighten the mood. It's Slick's birthday today and Mamy's is tomorrow so Cam gave them their gifts. ;)

She loves her backyard and will play back there for hours! Her newest fascination is crushed ice. See that Tupperware bowl there? Just give that girl some crushed ice and she's set for a while! She gives us, Nixie, the birds, and the grass some too! Fun for everyone!!! ;)

Hope everyone has a great week! Please keep Julie in your prayers as she grieves for her son....

Basement is coming together!!!

What to do while not working?? Decorate and spend money!!! ;). Oh, and blog! This is my second post today!!!! Luckily Amy and Fred gave us their old living room furniture as they got new and it fits and looks great down there! Walls are still a little bare but we will collect movie, photo, and Tech prints over the years!

I just love these little stack tables I found at Garden Ridge. Gotta love a good bargain at the 'ole GR! ;)

You know you live in W. Texas when....

You go to get your hair highlighted and not only did she mix gel AND mouse together but she RATTED my hair!!!!
Here's a good 'ole selfie pic but please know this was taken about an hour later once I realized this was 'blog-worthy' AND after I had tried my hardest to brush through the rats with my fingers. Hahaha! Man, it's good to be home. ;) I have nothing against ratted hair I just haven't done it in so long and I swear, us Small Town girls invented it! Good times!
