30 weeks and Swim Lessons

Yesterday I was 30 weeks along!! In celebration of our 75 degree temps here yesterday I thought it would be fun to wear what I wore while prego with Cam for the 30 week pic which was back in late July of 2011. I was lot tanner with Cameron and a little skinnier... Oops! Oh well, let's just say I'm enjoying being pregnant.

Total Weight Gain with Cam: 21.5 lbs.

Total weight Gain with Tess: 26 lbs

I'm still craving all the same things except I've amped up the cereal craving. I could eat it for every meal, any kind!

Tonight Cameron starts swimming lessons at the Tech Aquatics Center. We are doing one unit now which is 4 30-min sessions, then we will repeat in April so that's shes good and ready by summer. It sure will feel good to step back in the good ole rec center... B and I spent a lot of time in there back in the 'day.' ;o)

TGIF!!!!!

A New Day....

Well, Cameron woke up at 630, super happy, and diarrhea free!! Maybe we are out of the woods! Her little bottom is still very tender but she's overall much better and hopefully back to her normal self.

I had my 30 week, and probably last, sono this am and Tess is a very healthy baby girl! She weighs almost 4 lbs and has very long arms and legs the Sonographer said. Look at those cheeks and foot!!! Her heart rate and all of her anatomy look good as well as my placenta & cervix which was nice to hear. In 10 weeks we will be Team Herring: Party of 4!!!! I can hardly believe it!!!!!

Hope everyone's having a nice week and staying well!!

Big Foot!!!

There's that adorable Ballard nose!!

Oh and one last pic for you: Cameron had a LARGE time the other night with her stickers and baby Tess ;). I cannot believe I just put this photo on my blog but I don't wanna forget precious moments like this. Ever. She was talking to Tess the entire time she was 'decorating her' saying things like: 'Tess, do you like horses?' 'Oh look, Tess, your horse got a ribbon', and 'the horse shoe fits!!'

Melt.....

Can't catch a break!!!

Goodness gracious I do not have the most positive post to write today so my apologies, in advance, for being so negative but good Lord will we and my friends ever get well???????

Cam woke up Monday with a pretty bad dry cough (I have had a cold for the last two weeks so I'm sure it's some of that) so we started breathing treatments 3 times/day (I was going up to her school at lunch and everything to administer her 2nd treatment) which definitely helped then she started having diarrhea at school yesterday of which led to me having to pick her up early today due to her tummy hurting. Bless her, she was in tears her tummy hurt so bad. Her teacher was holding her when I arrived and her little legs were all curled up in the fetal position. She hasn't thrown up or anything just diarrhea which is what her daddy had so I think he passed that strand of the virus onto her. He's much better thank goodness, we just need to get her well. And how I haven't gotten sick is beyond me but I haven't! I guess the good Lord knows my 30 week prego self doesn't need this crap too! It's so gross!!!!!! It's been going around at Cam's school and in fact, Cam's newest teacher, Allie, who I adore, called me this morning at 7 AM asking if I had the school directors' cell phone # as she got sick on her way to work this morning. :(. Poor thing, she's still so new she doesn't even have Donna's number. It's rampant, that's for sure! My sis and her entire family has been down with this the last two days as well and our friends, The Coopers, have two sick kids with the flu. I'm praying Lindsay and Joey don't get it.

My maids are here right now disinfecting the entire house and I'm sooo glad!!! We have got to get rid of this nastiness ASAP!!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone is having a healthy week. Wash your hands!!!!!

Just when you think you're out of the woods....

Someone else gets sick! Cameron had a great day last Friday and we even attended a birthday party that night but when we got home daddy was sick and still isn't 100%. He got back from Dallas around 5 and felt ok but was NOT ok the next morning. He had 101 fever around 10 am so he went to the urgent care around noon and the Doc thought it was the stomach bug at that point. He said it was still too early to tell if it's the flu as the flu tests aren't 100% accurate that early so he prescribed him two kinds of nausea medicine and some Tamiflu to be safe. Well, his fever broke so it's probably a bug, and not the flu, but you never know. I'm glad we have the Tamiflu just in case. Brian never got sick or had fever again but he said he sure doesn't feel good. Here's hoping we have a better week this week as this 7.5 month prego mamma is BEAT!!!!!

In other news, we got to keep my sisters' little Macy girl over the weekend and she's so stinking cute! ;). They were in Andrews for a baseball tourney and although Nixie fought it at first, she sure warmed up to her and is super lost today without her :(. Cam too! If she asked me once this morning where Macy was she asked me 24 times. ;)

A few Herring Happenings....

Oh Broadway, where art thou???

6:30 AM performance, WITH shoes on, by our precious 2 year old. Doesn't get much better than this folks!!! Maybe she's the next 'Annie!?!?!?'

YouTube Video

Yesterday I was 29 weeks along! The top pic below is present day and the bottom one was when I was prego with Cam. I need to be careful, though, as I've already gained 25 lbs. Yikes!!! Dessert much? Haha! I did pass my glucose test so no gestational diabetes for me thank goodness!

Another HH for ya: It was 730 PM Wednesday night and we were about to take B to airport for his implant CE course in Dallas. Well, Cam decides to projectile vomit everywhere. Like 4 times. I've never see so much stinky puke in my life! Seriously, it was bad. Thankfully we were on the tile and my husband was still here to help me. He was such a trooper and cleaned up all the puke. I offered but he let me bathe her instead. So sweet babe. My tummy is pretty weak these days ;). AND, our Daughter has never really thrown up before so we were paralyzed. Couldn't move. We just watched her puke all over herself. It was awful. I started crying... It was bad! Lol! I can laugh about it now but couldn't then. There's a first time for everything I suppose.....

B had to drive himself to the airport needless to say but he didn't mind. Well, she puked again around 9 (I caught it in a bucket thankfully) so I decided to let her sleep with me. Her room is jut too far and I couldn't bear the thought of her getting sick in the middle of the night and me not being there to help her. Well the night was interesting, to say the least. I slept maybe 2 hrs bc every move she made I was worried she was going to projectile vomit but she never did. She's just not quite old enough to tell me she's going to get sick so I was super paranoid. All.Night.Long. She was up like every hour whimpering, moaning, scaring me half to death, etc., then she was up at 6 am for good. Ugh!!!!! She never threw up again yesterday but she was pretty puny all day and just not right. Very demanding, might I add. Not fun alone or prego! Here's nixie worried about her sister:

Well, my precious Mom called and said she was coming around 330 and I almost cried I was so happy. All I could think of was that B and I were gonna get it and then he couldn't take his class and I couldn't take care of her so I was more than thrilled to see her when she arrived. Luckily, she never got sick again and became more and more chipper with each passing hour. Mom got up with her this am and let me sleep in a little which was super nice. And then, at around 930, she took Cam to Plainview with her so I could work. Cam and I had planned on going to a birthday party of one of my friends' little boys in Plainview tonight so this worked out perfectly. We will come back afterwards as B will be home around 5. Whew, what a rough couple of days but we made it and little missy is feeling much better. Hopefully she's napping at her Grammy's as I type this.

And last but not least, Tess's diaper bag came in and I love it! It's navy.

Update on my Mother in law....

Several weeks, if not a month ago, Amy stopped taking her IV antibiotics per her Doctor's orders, and her blood work came back that she had infection again. :(. Her Orthopedic Surgeon was at a loss so he referred her to Gerhard Maale, MD (pronounced Molly) of Plano, TX. He founded the DFW Sarcoma Group, which specializes in Orthopaedic Oncology, Sarcomas, & Total Joint Reconstruction.

Dr. Gerhard Maale, himself, specializes in orthopaedic oncology, osteomyelitis, infected total joint arthroplasty, joint replacement, and complex joint reconstruction.

Could there not be a better Doc for her to see, given her current situation, than him?? I think not.

And he was perfect. She and Fred met with him yesterday and they really liked him! He will probably perform surgery around the middle of February. She must have several tests run before they schedule, but luckily she will have them at Covenant in Lbk! A Plastic surgeon will be involved and it will be a complicated, long surgery, but hopefully, only one and she should be able to walk shortly thereafter. She will be in the hospital at least a week.

How great is this news??

Her plastic surgeon, before this appt with Dr. Maale, was talking about having to put an expander in her knee to stretch it out in preparation for another surgery so she could eventually have the knee replacement, but Dr Maale said all that could be skipped as he plans to use a muscle from her shoulder or thigh so it can all be done at once. Hooray!! I sure hope his plan works although I'm sure it will as people come from all over the world to see him. He is that good. So we were praising God yesterday for this remarkable news. She could still use your prayers though as she's not completely out of the woods just yet.

Funny story: The Coopers' had us over for dinner Monday night and they asked about Amy. We told them she was seeing Dr Maale due to some further complications, and, come to find out, that's the same Doc Joey saw before being diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis by his rheumatologist. Crazy huh??? Dr Maale went in and did the surgery on Joey, found nothing but cartilage, cleaned it all out, then referred him back to the rheum and that's when they realized what it was. Joey took medication for about 4 years but has since stopped taking it and is pretty much good as new. He will go back on it if problems arise again but for now, all is well. Joey said Dr. M is legit, brilliant, will take good care of her, and hopefully solve this mystery for us. Which, as of now, it appears he has. What an unbelievably small world!

Cameron's New School!!!!

Trinity Christian Church and Trinity Christian School has been under construction for forever!! Well before we moved here in May but it's now very close to being finished and the children are in their new classrooms now. They added like 80,000 square feet and it's lovely!!!! Every day Cam says she's going to her new beautiful school. ;)

Cameron's class. They are mounting big flat screen TV's on the wall this week

Zeth and Cam

Their little theater/stage. How cute is that????

There's so much space!!! Waaaayyy more than before!

Their new playground that will eventually have artificial turf!

The gathering/fellowship area between the school and sanctuary. It's HUGE!!! And those tall, skinny, vertical brown panels there on that back wall are waterfalls. Really pretty and tranquil.

How you get to the new Trinity Christian School. It's two story.

The new entrance.

28 weeks!!!!

Well today I'm 28 weeks and one day along! I cannot believe I'm on the downhill stretch of this journey. I was thinking.... This is probably my last time to be pregnant. And that makes me a little sad. Brian and I have always said we will stop after two kids and that he will be snipped but to talk about that before Tess even gets here is a little scary, I guess. I'm sure everything will be ok but I'll be happy when April 10th gets here so I can have some assurance.

Here I was 28 weeks prego with Cam. I love comparing the two ;)

Last night, us, the Coopers', the Keators', and the Beelers' all had dinner out at the club and we brought our kids. 8 adults and 6 kids. Wowie!!!! We had a good time though and the food was excellent! Before we left I asked Cam if she wanted to take any toys and she said, 'my purse.' When she returned from her playroom she had four. This kid... ;)

NOLA!!!!!

Ok I don't even know where to begin!!??!!!!! Hands down, one of the best weekends of our lives. And we were there less than 48 hours! How is that possible?
A 40th birthday, old/new friends, incredible food, amazing culture/history, music, Bourbon Street, slots, black jack, laughter, & sleeping in is how!!!!! Ah-mayzing weekend!!! And for those curious: I couldn't even tell one of the deadliest hurricanes hit here 8.5 years ago. I went in 2003 and it looked the same to me!

Friday night we landed at 630 PM and Team Wainscott picked us up at the airport. We headed straight to Jacques Imo's Cafe for some "real nawlin' food" and boy was it ever!! Locals were in this joint, which is always a tell-tale sign the place is legit.

I mean, how cute is this place?? It was not in the French Quarter, which is another reason locals came here. ;o)

Us and 6 others couples decided to meet up in Nola for Stephanie's 40th birthday and we all agreed it was a wise decision! ;). Plus, B and I were wanting to visit Heather and Brad before baby Tess so we decided to roll it all into one.

We started with the shrimp and alligator sausage cheesecake and wowie. Unreal!!!!

I didn't photo our entrees but B had the stuffed quail he said was to die for and I had their famous fried chicken. Dee-lish!!!! We had a great time meeting everyone and ended the night at Cats Meow on Bourbon St for a little Karaoke Action. Everyone was begging me to sing so I put in for Adele's 'Rollin' in the Deep.' Well, 2 hours later I still hadn't sung :( so we decided to call it a night. It was 1 AM by that point and we still had to drive back to their apt, in the burbs, which was about an hour away.

When we got home Heather had a little gift for Tess on my bed and omg!! Could this be any cuter?!!!?!?!? I love it!!!! Thanks H!!!!!

We hit Starbucks on our way to the city the next morning and I'll tell ya: .......that bridge over Lake Pontchartrain from Covington (where H and B live) to New Orleans, is no joke. It's like 28 miles long!!!! Unnerving doesn't even begin to describe my feeling while driving over that thing! People do it everyday though. Crazy!!

We went to lunch at Port of Call and we all agreed that was probably the best cheeseburger we had ever eaten. Note to self: Fresh Grated Cheddar cheese!!!! And no fries here....Baked potatoes loaded all the way baby!

Then, we just walked around and took it all in!

Jackson Square

The Saints played at 3 and let's just say the fans are a little fanatic!!

Here lies a dog 'playing dead' in an actual handmade coffin. The sign says, 'need money for proper buriel.' What????? He laid there for, I swear, 30 minutes!!!!!

Brian bought some art for his office in Jackson Square and we loved this scene so much we had to go there in person.

We were told this was the oldest building in New Orleans. At the corner of Bourbon and St. Philip.

These are supposedly an EXCLUSIVE Nawlins favorite but heard they were pretty nasty!

Watching the Saints play at a bar and I was freezing!!!

More art we bought for Brian's office but I think my wet bar needs it! This was painted on old scraps of wood after the hurricane hit!!!!

The birthday girl and her main squeeze, Brian!

In The W hotel lobby before dinner at Irene's in the French Quarter.

The Crew!!! Such a great group of people!!!

Words cannot describe how ridiculously good Irene's was. I took zero pics of our food but that was only because we were devouring it before I had a chance!!! Yummy!!!! Irene, herself,
Who is The Chef, came out and thanked us for coming and gave Stephanie a big ole bday smooch! So nice!!!! Then, we had some King cake!!!! The first day of Mardi Gras was the Saturday we were there so Brian thought a festive king Cake would be fitting for Steph's bday cake. It was delicious!

A plastic baby is always baked in the cake for tradition and Steph ended up with it!!! Her baby was little black baby though!! Hahaha!!!

Then, shortly after that, Steph's brother, Hardie, starts choking on something and sure enough, he got a baby too!!!! His was white. They already love wine like their parents! Lol!!

We hit the casino (Harrah's, which was right across the street from our hotel) after dinner and Brian and I didn't lose money!! Woo hoo!!!!

Alas, it was time to get back to my parents and our baby girl back in TX but first: Cafe du Monde. I have no words for these delicious puffs of goodness. Unbelievable!!!!

Stephanie, thanks for the letting us join in on your birthday fun, we had a blast!!!! Team Wainscott, thanks for your generous hospitality. Miss you guys already. :o(

Until next time......

Cheers,
Lindley
