Christmas 2011

Thursday, December 22, we drove to Plainview for the night to be with my folks.... We had a great time considering we were only there for about 15 hours.

Friday morning, we got up and went to Hereford for lunch and to see Brian's real dad, stepmom, and paternal grandparents Bubber and Grandaddy.

Then, we drove onto Friona that afternoon to be with Brian's family and stayed through Monday. We had a wonderful time, told old stories of when Brian and his brother, Trent, were little, ate like kings, and enjoyed every last minute of Cameron's first Christmas. She slept in a pack n play down in the basement and did beautifully! Such a good girl!!

Brian's 'cockit' which is what he called his blanky when he was a baby. Cockit....blanket.... Same thing, right?!?!?!!?! ;o) He accidentally set fire to it when he was like 3 (playing with matches... Oh sure!!!) and this was all Amy could salvage!

Friday night we were invited over to Amy's best friend's house for dinner but we took no pictures. :(. Delicious meal, Melissa and Becky!!!! Thank you!!!


Christmas Eve we went to Canyon to Amy's sister's house and had another delicious meal! Thanks Beth and Ronnie! Great seeing you guys, your children, and beautiful grandchildren!

Cameron goes to bed like this.....

And I find her like this the next morning. She does this almost every single night. HAHA! Silly girl. I had to take the bumper pads off because I got nervous. I am sure she would have been fine, but you just never know. And, we've gotten rid of all blankets! That kind of crib-partying can make for a pretty mean mess if I were to keep giving her props to play with. :)

May I also mention she's sleeping 8 hours straight every single night as well. I haven't posted about this very exciting news yet because I was afraid I might jinx it; however, I feel fairly certain this is a set pattern and will continue seeing how she's been doing it since she was about 9 weeks old and we go for her 16 week appt on Jan 9th!!!! YAY! he loves to sleep and loves her crib! Thank you Lord!

Hi! Cameron here....

I love my Court Court! She's taking care of me this week and next, makes me so happy, and I'm pooping more regularly with her here! HOORAY! My tummy feels so much better.

My Hero!!!!

Courtney is keeping Cam this week and next and totally got little miss priss to nap in her crib yesterday!!!! Her score was crib 2 swing 2 which kicks my crib 0 swing 4 score big time! Unbelievable!!! The below pic was taken at 4:30 PM! Great job, Court!!!!

I keep hearing, from other moms, that kids will EASLIY do things for others that moms have been trying to get them to do forever, no problem. Awesome.

Juli's first day!!!

Ok, so my nanny, Juli, kept Cameron all day but only for today and then will start full time Jan 3rd. My friend, Courtney, is keeping her for the next 2 wks but got in late last night from moving back to Dallas from El Paso so I told her to stay home and rest so she would be good to go tomorrow and for the next 2 wks. ;)

Juli is going to be bringing her son, Levi, who is 2 months older, every day with her once she starts full time next year so we had to get us some 'gear' for the babies!

Our new, well used, (Juli bought it for us from a friend) double stroller, that works great! You can change it to where they dont face each other but Juli thought they might like that and they totally did. They are already BFF's! ;).

3 months old!!!!

My goodness time flies!!!!! Cameron Elizabeth, you are 3 months old! U are such a joy and bring smiles to our faces every single day! U also love to smile, coo, squeal, grunt, look around, stare at your Christmas tree for hours, almost laugh, sleep through the night thank you, Lord, and eat!!!! The one thing you dont like to do is "smile for the camera!!!" U were ALL smiles this morning except when mommy put the camera up to your face. Ugh! Oh well... We will work on it. ;)

God is Good!

My sweet friend Debra, who fought breast cancer this year, is now going au natural sans wig. Today was her first day without it and although she’s still pretty self-conscious, I told her she’s beautiful, looks amazing, and should strut her stuff! I tear up every time I think about her and the whole situation.... Bless her. She’s doing really well, has fought this to its death, is considered 'cancer-free,' and I’m just so proud of her! I LOVE the short look and think she can totally pull off all kinds of fun hairstyles now! Love you, Deb!!!!

Christmas Lights

So, my mom is here all week keeping Cameron for us and she and I went Christmas lights looking last night. We had a blast! B was tired so he stayed home but mom and I got Cameron all loaded up, found a Christmas station on XM Radio, and drove around for almost an hour & 1/2! There is a really nice neighborhood a couple miles from us that, I thought would have some pretty amazing displays, and I was right! Oh.My.Lord! These homes are ridiculous as it is, much less with 1,299,458 lights on them. They were something to behold! Thanks for a fun night mom. :)

Back to work

Yesterday was actually a rather comforting day. Cameron is with mom all week, work is crazy busy, I had a work lunch at noon and....... came back to an email from my receptionist saying the below was delivered to me. ;). Thank you honey

Night out!!!!

Brian and I, along with our friends, Matt and Sarah Pitts went out on the town last night to a fabulous restaurant called, Screen Door http://www.screendoordallas.com/, that's located in the Arts Plaza down by the beautiful Winspear Opera House! What a great little area and the food was ridiculous!!!! Dorette Green, my hair colorist, offered to babysit Cam earlier this week, so we took her up on it for one last Hurrah before I go back to work next week. Thank you Dorette! Cameron loves you and especially when you sing opera to her! ;).

Aaahhh.... Work! Oh how I love yet hate you! How am I supposed to go back to you after spending the most amazing 3 months with the love of my life!?!?!? I am ready but can't imagine leaving my baby girl every day now for 9+ hours!?!? I know Cameron will be just fine but it's still not easy! I cannot thank my mom, Courtney Golden, and my Mother-in-law, Amy, enough for keeping her this month until my nanny starts in January! Words can't describe how appreciative we are! Thank you, thank you!!!!
