Heart Day

I am not a fan of Valentines day. Like, at all. Never have been, never will be. It's a silly holiday, everything's over priced, traffic is awful, people are mean, Target's picked over,....I just really dislike the day. However, having a baby has really changed this day for me and now I like it.

Brian went and got Cam her valentines day gift from us yesterday and did really well! I've been slammed at work so he went. What would I do without him?!?! He got her this little stuffed monkey and a Minnie Mouse valentines T-shirt. So cute and she loved it!!!












Brian went to pick Cameron up from daycare yesterday and all the kids were talking about their 'valentimes.' Brian then realized we need to bring such 'valentimes' to school tomorrow. Had we planned on this? Nope! So, my precious hubby and baby load up from school and off to Albertson's they go. He had already been to Target once yesterday and wasn't risking his life again so he randomly chose Albertson's. Luckily he found some good finds for Cams friends and we stuffed 'valentimes' last night while we ate dinner. My how times have changed!!! ;). It was fun though and all for those sweet little dumplins!

Here's all the loot he got for the kids. I just love that I have a husband who will go and run errands like this without complaining. I actually think he enjoyed himself. He really likes helping me out and I couldn't be more thankful!!!





Then, as if that wasn't sweet enough....I get out of the shower this morning and find this on my vanity. You're too much babe. Thank you!!! You know I hate this holiday but still find a way to make me smile. Love you lots!!!

Heavy Heart

I've had a lot of things weighing heavy on my heart lately and to respect the privacy of others and myself, I won't be specific, but man--I'm ready for some good news. I know He has a plan for all of us, but sometimes his delivery could be a little better. ;) I know it's not His intention to blindside us with life changing events, and I know everything happens for a reason, I just wish I had answers. I have been and will continue to pray for guidance. For all 7 of my avid readers, ;o) if you could say a little prayer for us and our loved ones who are seeking guidance as well I would really appreciate it.
On another, more positive note.... this little hat-wearing poptart sure makes our days brighter. She's never liked hats or wanted anything to do with hats... Until Saturday. I think she would sleep in hats if I'd let her! She's so funny. ;)

This video is of Cameron just being Cameron. My mom hasnt seen her in a really long time due to her surgery so I try to send videos often. She makes me smile. If it's not a hat it's a necklace. She napped in this necklace by the way. ;). Love her!!

Proud mommy moment

When I dropped Cameron off at Debi's yesterday morning she proceeded to tell me how good Cam is each and everyday, that she plays really well with others, isn't aggressive or controlling, never causes problem, is so sweet and loving, all the kids like her... she just raved at how good of a baby she is.

Melt.My.Heart. Brian and I really do try our absolute best to be the best parents we can be so to see others notice makes it all worth it. There's truly nothing more amazing than being a mommy to this precious munchkin.

Trivial Pursuit Butt-Kicking and Superbowl Sunday

We went to the Hale's Saturday night for some of Mike's yummy 'Q' and I just have to brag on Team Herring seeing how Team Hale seems to always gang up on us. We totally whooped their hineys and I loved every second. Linds and I are pretty competitive like that so our game nights are serious. ;) I give y'all an A+ for effort and good food! Haha! Love y'all--thx for a fun night.

I just had to take a pic of this... Cam LOVES going to 'play with the boys' and goes down over there so easily. Lindsay always has the pack n play and noise machine up for me and Cam goes right down. I take our monitor with me everywhere I go and the Hale boys could watch her for hours. It's precious. ;)


While B and I were home baking 'football turnover' and 'pizza rolls' .....(the first turnover turned out, but the rest? Not so much! We got lazy and decided to use the rest of the dough and make one big turnover)....

Brandi to Dallas and our weekend

Last week, Brandi, was in Dallas for market and Heather and I met her for dinner. Always good seeing you Brandi. ;). You make me smile!


Poor Cam has been under the weather and spiked a really high fever last week so off to the Dr we went. It's not the flu thank goodness, just a nasty virus. She's feeling better though!


On our way to Lubbock. Poor thing didn't feel good. We were supposed to fly but decided against that considering airplanes are a 24/7 virus. Cam is not fond of the car, that's for sure, but thanks to B's truck having a DVD player, 'puppies,' and Stuart Little we survived!

Surgery updates, Drea, 8:30 AM, Jello Jigglers, and Prayer Request

My mom is doing remarkably well after her foot surgery and thanks to my dad, I have pics to share on here. I cannot believe I haven't seen my mom since her surgery!! This is killing me!!! Im hoping to see her sometime this weekend while we are in LBB.

My beautiful mom. She is home-based and unable to drive for 6 solid weeks but still gets up and ready every.single.day. The only reason I shower and get ready everyday is because I have to go to work. ;) Mom doesn't work and still gets ready. I have always been impressed by that my whole life!!! Mom has been putting this surgery off for quite a while now due to the long recovery, just because she is NOT a sitter. She go, go, goes, literally, everyday. She's always exercising, running errands, delivering meals on wheels, working at the FISH house, seeing her friends, helping my dad with his P&L, etc. Huh, sounds like someone I know! ;). She has really prepared for this, put off projects to do during this time, & set aside good books to read just because sitting is so hard for her. She's really treating this like a staycation and I'm just so proud of her. Enjoy this time and take advantage of some much-needed R&R, mom. Love you and stay strong!




Speaking of surgery, Debra had back surgery to remove a herniated disc last Wednesday and she's ALSO doing remarkably well!!!!! God is good for sure. She is up, moving around, cooking, sitting in a chair... She's doing great! I went and got her last night after work to come eat dinner with us and she was just so happy to finally get out of the house. I'm very very proud of her!!! Keep up the great work, Deb and here's to getting stronger every day.

My friend Drea came to Dallas last weekend to house hunt with her brother but stayed with me. We loved having her and sure wish I could see her more often. I have got to get better about taking pictures. I don't think I've ever seen Drea take a bad picture!!! She is beautiful in every single picture!!!!!




Most of my blog readers know that my daughter is an EARLY BIRD. Like 5 AM early. But not recently! Drea, Brian, and I both woke up in a panic Sunday morning because Cam was NOT up and it was...




What?!?!?!!?!? I thought hell might freeze over! We couldn't believe it!! Cam was one happy baby that morning and didn't even have or need a morning nap. Such a blissful Sunday but was sad to see Drea go. :(. See you next month at Kayla and Craig's engagement party, friend.
Saturday night we went and saw Chad, Donna, and Ella for a few hours and just had the best time catching up. It's been a while since we had seen them so I was glad we were able to meet up.
Their precious daughter, Ella, LOVES her some broccoli! Talk about impressive!!!!




You better believe, after seeing that miraculous broccoli event at The Bailey Household, I was determined to get Cam eating broccoli as well so while at the grocery store we stocked up on multiple bags of frozen broccoli. While there we also thought, if we are gonna be those parents who make our kid eat broccoli, we should offer something fun to go along with it so when we came up on the Jello aisle our mission was accomplished. We went to grab a couple boxes but when we saw the Jiggler molds we had to buy those!!! Well, like is an understatement! She loves and finds them rather entertaining. Ha! The broccoli? Yea, not so much!




Please lift up my dear friend, Mandie, and her family as they endured a very sudden & tragic death last week. It was a freak accident and they are all asking why. AJ Swope, you will never be forgotten. May our God wrap his arms around you and allow you to watch over your precious wife, Wendi, and family. I was lucky enough to meet AJ a Mandie and Chris's wedding reception and what a remarkable man he was. A life cut too short for sure.



It's in His name that we pray... Amen.

Mom and plungers

My sweet mom had foot surgery yesterday and is doing well!!!! She's recovering at my sisters house in Lubbock and under the best care possible. Thanks for helping her sissy and so proud of you mom! You did it!!! Now, onto the recovery. Fun times ahead! ;)

Last but not least: Cam has a million toys in our house and she picks this? Really? Gross! She just came out with this the other day and I about died! And, it's hidden in the linen closet. It's not like its sitting out or anything. Only our child... ;)

It's been a while...

And all 9 avid blog readers of mine are asking what's up with us, soooo.... Here you go!
1.). Cam can eat with a fork now! Very exciting! We haven't even been working with her really using utensils yet so we were proud of her. We went to Taverna with some friends one Sunday morning for an hour & 1/2 and Cam did beautifully! Proud parents moment for sure! I took a video but its not uploading for some reason ??

2.) I have a new favorite beer. Delicious




3.). Cam LOVES 'Santa Paws.' Yes it's a Christmas movie and yes she's still watching if after Christmas but hey: when we can finally get things done when she's awake, I'm all for it! Entranced I tell ya! She's NEVER liked TV until this movie. Yes I have bought the movie. This was DVR'd during the holidays from TV but we deemed it absolutely necessary to own it as well.












4.). Yesterday was a very exciting day for my friend, Heather. Several of her girlfriends, both sister-in-laws, and her sweet beautiful mom accompanied her and we found THE ONE! I'm refraining from putting it on here, per the bride-to-be's wishes, but I have to say I haven't stopped thinking about this dress. Classy, unique, elegant, and STUNNING are a few adjectives to describe the masterpiece. She will be a beautiful bride. So happy for you, Heather! Loved seeing your friends and family yesterday as well.



5.). Cam has been sleeping and napping extremely well. I'm sure this post will jinx everything but I don't want to forget mornings where we ALL feel like a million bucks due to sleep. She's always been a great sleeper, but her 4&5 AM wake up times were about to kill us. Literally. When you're baby is going down for her morning nap at 7:30 AM you know something's off. Well, lets just put it this way; she went down for her morning nap at 10 AM yesterday and today! Enough said. So glad you're sleeping better sweet girl. It definitely shows.
We are having such a ball with her. What a blessing and joy she is. We love you 'this much!'
That's about it folks. I'll be sure to update more often, I promise.
