Santa Land

Us and the Coopers' went to Lubbock's Santa Land Monday night and the kids had a ball! There was a 60-foot Christmas tree, animated scenes and carols, and hot chocolate from the concession stand. It was chilly so we got all bundled up ;)

Miles was with his Granna and Pappa Jim

Next up: pictures from Christmas!!!!

Iona Faye Richards Cook - 9/1/1924 - 12/19/2013

Brian's precious Granny took her last breath last night around 630 PM. She didn't struggle, she didn't suffer. She was very much at peace and is now watching over us from heaven with her love, John R. She's been living in the same nursing home in Friona for the last 5 years or so and truly loved it. She had a small stroke last Thursday night, became unresponsive, and just quit eating. She was 89 and lived a wonderful life but that doesn't mean we wont miss her. She was, seriously, one of the sweetest ladies I'd ever met. So soft spoken and had a heart of gold! My heart breaks for Fred, aka Slick, because it's never easy losing your mom. She will always be with us in our hearts until we meet again...

Love you Granny.

Big D, 24 weeks, and Ian plays basketball!!!

Last weekend we went to Dallas as B was taking an Implant CE course Wed and Thursday so Cam and I decided to fly out Friday to be with him, see some friends, eat..... ALOT, take our annual pic with the downtown Neiman Marcus Santa, and shop. We had a great time! Stayed with The Hales' and little missy did great on the plane. I'm talking... Angelic. How come she can't be angelic for just B and I at home?!!!?

Friday night we ate dinner at Mi Cocina, one of my favs, with Kayla and the Hales, then kolache Heaven Saturday morning for breakfast, Snuffer's for lunch Sat, mike hales famous fried chicken for dinner Saturday night, then breadwinners for brunch with Debra, Bridget, and Jim before hitting the road. Debra bought these dresses for Cam as Tess while in Hawaii last month. Can you say adorable?!!?!!!?

I sure miss my Dallas peeps. :(. I didn't get to see EVERYONE his trip but saw quite a few and loved every minute of it !! LBB is where we are supposed to be and we love it so much, but gosh, I miss them!!!! Thanks for the hospitality Devine. Love you more than you know.....

Here are the last three years' pics with Santa. He's such a beautiful Santa, we just love him. We're going to try to get to Dallas each Christmas to keep the tradition going.

3 months old

15 months

27 months old.

Today I'm 24 weeks along!!!! Feeling good but definitely GROWING! I've gained 16.5 lbs so far.

Here I was at 24 weeks with Cameron

And 24 weeks with Tess. So fun comparing the two.

Last night cam and I went to Ian's basketball game and he just looked so grown up out there shooting, passing, and dribbling the ball. My little nugget is getting so big!!!!! :(. Was sure fun watching him play and his team won!!! Cameron was a good little cheerleader. He's #7!!

I will leave you with a few pics of our in-home photos shoot last week. She's such a ham!! But I seriously don't think there's anything I could love more. She may be in her terrible twos but she's still my baby girl and I literally cannot imagine her not being in my life. Brian and I find it such a blessing to be parents.

Happy Thursday all!!!

Christmas Meltdow... I mean, Program.

So, today was Cameron's Christmas Program at school. But first, I must document that we are pretty much done with the high chair. Tear. Seriously. How did she turn 6 overnight???????

Let me just tell you that my child caused quite the scene today. Remember the Macy's episode? Yep, same kindof deal but in front of a 1000 times more people.

Now, I don't have this on video b/c I was solo (B is in Dallas for an Implant CE Course) but would probably pay $1000 for a copy if I could get my hands on one. This was THAT good people.

Let me start you from the beginning:

All the kids are sitting in the section to the right of the parents in this massive sanctuary and I spot Cameron among all the other little munchkins. She's being an absolute angel. I contemplate going over there to take her picture and give her a big kiss but talk myself out of it. I didn't wanna jinx this awesome behavior. She is, and continues, sitting there perfectly while all the groups before her class perform. Well, it's time for her class and up they go. All in this most precious little single file line. Like tiny ducklings. *Note little miss in the black and white polka dotted snowman outfit.

Here's a blown up pic....

She was front row. Smiled, sang, danced, performed the motions, ..she did all of it. Proud mommy for sure. Everyone was talking about the little girl in the snowman outfit and how darling she was. Well, then......

She saw me. Oh.My.Lord. She LOST it. Had to be taken off stage and everything. Yep. And came straight for me. I was so embarrassed yet sad for her, all at the same time. There were like 24,901 people there. Parking was a joke. It was bad. She sat with me for a bit then I convinced her to go back up there and sit with her friends for the duration of the program but that translated into her sitting in her all-time-favorite teachers' lap, Michelle, for the rest of the time. Good times

Sitting with Michelle

Tis the season to spread some tears. Or cheer. Whichever you prefer. ;-)

The Woodhouse, Caprock Winery Holiday party, and Amy Is Home!!!!!

Back in August, my mom got me a gift certificate to Lubbock's newest spa, The Woodhouse, and I used it last Saturday. One word: heavenly! That place is something else! Very 'big time' for the ole LBK. ;). I didn't take these pictures, I took them off the website but my massage and facial rooms were identical to these minus the rose petals. I got the maternity, Mother-To-Be package ad was there for over 3 hours. Unbelievable! Thanks mom!!!!!!!!

Last Sunday night we took Brian's Staff and a guest to Caprock Winery for a 3 course meal with wine pairing prepared by Chef Curtis and it was lovely! Not to mention delicious!!! His menu is below: yummy!!!!!!!

Candied Apple and Walnut Salad:
Sautéed candied apples, toasted walnuts, cucumber, & cherry tomatoes on a bed of mixed greens with goat cheese and a Moscato truffle oil vinaigrette.
*Paired with CapRock Viognier

Grilled 8oz Filet Mignon:
Wild mushroom cabernet demi-glace, baby bakers, & roasted asparagus
Paired with CapRock 2006 Legacy Cabernet Sauvignon

Double Chocolate Cake
Chocolate cake topped with chocolate port sauce and homemade port whipped cream
Paired with CapRock 2006 Vintage Tawny Port

We had a great time and I'm kicking myself for not taking any pictures. :(. His staff means the world to us and we love them dearly.

And, last but certainly not least:
Amy is HOME!!!!!!! She was released Saturday but couldn't get out of town with Dallas's Icemaggeddon until Sunday, and even then, the road conditions still weren't great, but they made it! It just under 9 hours. What are the chances of Dallas being in a 5 day ice storm when she is FINALLY released from the hospital?!??!? Unbelievable. But they are home and couldn't be happier.

Lots of Herring Happenings and other fun stuff!!!!

Last Sunday we attended FUMC again and it's just wonderful! I adore everything about it and think we will officially join in 2014. Cameron REALLY loves going to Jesus's house and that could not put a bigger smile on my face.

I think she also REALLY loves her Daddy. Melt.........

We ran to Home Depot just in time for Santa to arrive (we had no clue he would be there) and although Cam wouldn't sit directly in his lap, she sat close by on the bear's lap, and told Santa she wants a tractor for Christmas.

My friend Lindsay turned 33 last Sunday and my husband made his infamous homemade turkey enchiladas for her. So yummy babe!! Miles was at his grandparents, but these two precious girls were pretty darn good and let us have a fun adult dinner.

Tuesday night, B and I went and saw Transiberian Orchestra and it was just OK. Ive been told by many they loved it, but B and I just weren't feeling it. We are glad we went but don't think we will go again. Amazing light show and the vocalists were unbelievable I just wish there was more structure to it. It was very random. And it wasn't all Christmas music when I wish it were. :(.

On Monday of this week Cam started getting a cough but we just thought it was allergies. Well, after a full day of fever and coughing we went to the doc and it's her ears :(. Poor baby cannot get these ears well! Ugh!!! She's on antibiotics now and from the below video, you can tell she's feeling much better.

Dr. Skinner gave her these glasses. Too cool for school. Literally.

She stayed home with me two days and was so pathetic. She whined and cried a lot. I hate seeing my baby sick! :(.

I tried getting her to laugh but failed miserably!

Just last night, she started acting like herself, thank goodness! She loves her some Annie and had me rewind this scene no less than 10 times so she could 'critique' it! Haha! Notice the gold 'tap' shoes. She's a riot!!!!

YouTube Video

A few more fun things are:

My friends, Bridget and Jackie, are pregnant!!!!!! I'm so incredibly happy for these two ladies that I can hardly contain myself!!!! Bridget has been married 7 years so I had pretty much give up on she and Jim but not anymore!!!! ;). Yay!! And Jackie, who was recently married back in February, has been trying to conceive pretty much since their honeymoon so I'm super elated for she and Sammy as well! I love having so many friends prego with me!!! Jim and Bridget are due June 1 and Jackie and Sammy July 5!

*****Please don't put anything on FB or any social media sites, for that matter, so as to respect their privacy, but calls and texts are welcome.*****

And, last but certainly not least: but MIL is still taking her baby steps but doing really well!!!! They took the wound vac off and she
started walking with PT yesterday!!!!!!!!! She can't put any weight on that leg so it requires lots of upper body strength. She said it's hard. Her knee will not bend either b/c there's no joint in there so she said it feels weird but overall, she's getting along great!!!They are shooting for Saturday to come home. They have to get all of her stuff arranged with home health and a wheelchair delivered for her to take back to Friona with them, but if all goes planned, God willing, she should be home this weekend!!!! Please continue to keep her in your prayers as she still has a long recovery at home, and then the actual knee replacement surgery again once she's fully healed. They are working, though, so keep 'em coming!!!

Have a great rest of your week and stay warm. The high here today was 21. Bbbbrrr!!!!!

Lindley

Belly Laughs

So my baby decided to let me know how active she is about an hour ago. I hadn't really felt her until just now and I am grinning from ear to ear.

This is what it's all about!!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving Family Picture

Mom took this with her camera and isn't real good at emailing pics so I just took a pic of the hard copy she gave me. Turned out pretty good. Cam isn't really smiling but it will work! ;)
