Tess Leanne Herring... From the beginning

Something is wrong with my blog, so I'll narrate more in my next post. I think have picture overloaded this post ;). Also, I've been told this post may have caused a few squeamish ones a bit of nausea and I'm so sorry. I should have forewarned everyone that this content is pretty graphic and that you should proceed with caution.

On our way to the hospital!!

Well, I had a first last night....

I had to make sure my husband was breathing he was sleeping so peacefully and quietly!!!! No heavy breathing even!!!!! Where did the snoring go???? He's been doing better lately but he would still snore, so to hear NOTHING last night was a little concerning! ;). Little did he know, I was dancing a little jig several times throughout the night last night. Haha!! This whole snoring thing has been rather perplexing to me bc I have no idea why or how he miraculously got better???? So wild!!!!

Also, another first for me is this belly at 39 weeks. Holy bigness Batman!!!!!

And, one last first for me today was an experience at The Pie Bar, over in Kingsgate shopping center. Mom and I went for an afternoon snack and that is some deliciousness right there!

You create your own pie by picking out your crust and the filling, and then they top it off with homemade whipped cream. I had graham cracker crust with chocolate mousse filling and mom had vanilla wafer with pecans crust and key lime filling. Oh my, these were good! We each had a cup of coffee as well and it was such a nice little break from work, as well as a sweet tooth filler for me. Yes, the big one above is mine. I am so glad my sweet mom is close and can help us out like this at the drop of a hat. Having her around after Tess arrives will be wonderful!!!

Tomorrow is the day!! I hope I'm able to sleep tonight ;)

Lindley

''Can Friday not come soon enough?!!!?!''

This was the text Kayla sent me earlier this week and she couldn't be any more spot on! This week is dddrraaagggiiinnng..............

My C section is scheduled for noon this Friday, and I have to fast and be there by 9:30-10. I had a doc appt yesterday and all looks good. I will stay in hospital no more than 72 hours. Most C sections are released before then but insurance will pay for 72 hours should I need it. Doc thinks Tess weighs about 8 lbs and she's no longer breach. Let me just tell you how much more comfortable this is on ME! Wow! Having her head trying to break my ribs on a daily basis was no bueno so she's got to be more comfortable too. I've gained 27 lbs so far with Tess and gained 30 with Cam.

Mom is coming Thursday to help me do last minute things around the house, then she will tend to Cam Friday. She will take he to school then come up and be with us at the hospital. Amy and Fred are coming also and will go and pick Cam up from school, after her nap, and bring her up to the hospital to meet her new sister. What a fun and eventful weekend we have ahead. I cannot wait!!!

One random note, and something I'm very excited about: we are redoing Brian's office over the week of July 4th!!! My sorority sister and friend, Lacy Brown, is an interior decorator here on LBB and has more connections than you can possibly imagine. She's the one who helped me find the man who reupholstered Cam's new glider for her room. She's from LBB and her dad was a commercial builder before retiring and opening car washes, so she knows WHO and HOW to make things happen with remodels and new builds around this city. She met me and B up at the office Monday evening and we have a plan! Progress reports on that coming soon.

And last but not least: cam slept until 7:15 this morning and 7 am Monday morning. Yes!!!!

Last weekend as a family of 3

This hit me like a ton of bricks last Friday morning. I think about Cameron a lot and how her little world is going to change so much but I don't necessarily feel like this change will be bad or hard. Maybe it's my optimistic attitude but I really think Tess is going to complete us. In so many more ways than the obvious: her making us a family of 4. She's brought me so much joy this pregnancy with her constant movement (well, once she decided to FINALLY start moving!! It took forever, but at 21.5 weeks she got going and hasn't stopped!!) that I'm dying to meet her!!! Cam is going to have a SISTER!!!!! My sister is my absolute world. I cannot sit here and try to describe what that's like, all I can say is it's remarkable. Simply remarkable. We didn't always make life easy for my sweet mom growing up but what siblings do??? ;) I just think Cameron and Tess are meant to be in this world together and to get to watch them grow up having each other is indescribable. I cannot wait. Yes, it will be hard as hell, and yes we will have our fair challenges, but for Cameron to hopefully have what I have with my sister is priceless.

We didn't do anything spectacular or earth shattering this past weekend, we just hung around as a family and it was perfect. The weather was absolutely gorgeous so we had lots of park time, a picnic, bubbles, we saw Trent and Kelly, we ate out... It was so nice. And, for the most part, she was a very good girl all weekend. Funny how that works huh??? ;). Here are a few pics I snapped at the park. Such a ham!!!

Quick Tot Clock update: it's working!!! It's working!!!!!!! OMG!!!!
She's be sleeping until 6 or so as it is, but she's calling out for me, so when I go in, I tell her it's not yellow yet and that she needs to go back to sleep. I'll rock her for a second and she will lay in there until 630 when it turns yellow. The last two mornings she's gotten OUT of her bed at 630 and come into our room!!!! Praise God, we may have a solution!!! We are about to start inching it up by 5 min increments to eventually get her to 7 am, but for now, I'm happy she's not rising at 5, 530, 545!!!!!!

38 weeks!!!

I washed my hair and put on makeup to help the situation b/c let's be honest: that belly is HUGE!!!!! And not pretty. So, you're welcome. I cannot believe I will only take one more belly photo before Tess arrives!!!

I am craving his cereal like no other!!! And I swear, Post knows what they're doing because they package this yummy goodness in the smallest box possible to get you to buy more and well--guilty as charged! I go through a box like every 3rd day, when this is all I eat. I do switch it up from time to time and eat a donut, bagel with PB, or a PB pop tart, but I sure love me some Cranberry Great Grains, which is completely random bc this cereal is quite healthy. Who knows?!? Pregnancy does some weird things to your body!!!!!

I'm feeling pretty good, just ready to meet her and see who she looks like.

Cheers,
Lindley

Progress!!!!

Brian and I have slept in same bed the last two nights!! Holy smokes!! My MIL suggested getting a humidifier and not to think that's the end all, be all, 'fixer' of my husband's snoring but he sure is doing better! I think it may be helping him breathe in this nasty dry and dirt-infested W. TX weather. Plus, it's noisy and that helps me sleep better so it's a win-win all around. I've tried downloading white noise apps onto my phone & using an actual white noise machine of Cameron's even, but none of those were cutting it, which makes me think even more that the humidifier may be helping Brian breathe. Who knows, but all I know is it sure was nice having my 6 foot, protective, & handsome bed partner back. I've enjoyed my 10 lb furbaby, but she's like a furnace and has to be RIGHT beside me at ALL TIMES! Brian is not a cuddler so I'm happy to have him back. Don't get me wrong, he still snored some last night but stopped immediately when I nudged him. Here's to this only getting better with time and permanently getting my hubby back in the sack! Ha! It's just so strange bc he hasn't always snored. This just started when I got pregnant last summer. ??? It's had me beyond perplexed, but we will get over this hump!!

As for Cam: she is doing much better!! Sleeping until 630-7, and being much sweeter. I really think this last ear infection was hurting her, plus I think we may have taken her out of pull ups a tad too soon so we are back in those and she's sleeping so much better. Praise The Lord!!!

Speaking of Cameron, I got this from her teacher a few minutes ago and just giggled. She is such a mess!

'As she's running away from the friend she stole the headband from..."look Allie! I made my hair pretty!"'

And speaking of her teacher, Allie: when you ask Cameron who her best friend is she says, 'Allie.' ;)

Today I'm 38 weeks along, pic coming soon. And, it's not pretty.

Amy Update

She had three doctors appts in Dallas yesterday and all checked out good! She still can't bend her knee but they all say it looks good, along with her other two incisions. Please keep praying for a smooth recovery and that once she's walking again, it's natural, comfortable, and all worth it! She goes back on 2 weeks for another round of appts.

Lindley
