Some Herring Happenings....

After several attempts to get Tess to sleep in her crib, she surprised us and slept in her crib, all night last night, starting at 10:30, went 4.5 hour stretches, and is still asleep after the 6:30 am feeding. I swear it's day to day with these kids! ;). I did give her 1 oz of just regular formula after each breast feed so that may have been the trick, who knows?!?! Regardless, I feel amazing this morning!!!

Just wanted to give a little shout out to Cameron, the BIG sister. She's been really good with Tess and I wanted to document so I don't forget. She kindof just ignores Tess, for the most part, but when she wants something to do with her, she's super sweet and loves to talk to her in baby talk. She's really good at putting the wubbanub back in her mouth when she's crying too. Overall, we have been very pleased with how she's handling all this and we couldn't be more proud of our girl! She's been doing very well with her sleeping and the bedtime pull-up situation as well. We thought we were fully out of diapers about a month ago, but she had like 5 accidents in a row so back to a pull-ups we went. Well, she's now gone the last week with no accidents at night time so we will try going pull-up-less at night here very soon. Her prize for a dry pull-up in the mornings is $.02 for her piggy bank and you would have thought she'd won the lottery. It's the little things...

Trent and Kelly gave her this little purse and she loves it!!!

As for her sleeping: she's doing phenomenal! She goes to bed at 8 and does not get up until her tot clock is yellow which is set for 6:45 AM!!! 645 may seem early to some but it's considered a late morning for us after seeing 5 am way too often!

Mamy and Slick came to visit yesterday and it was sure good to see them, even if it was just for a few hours.

We had Rosa's for lunch and enjoyed a good visit. They brought Easter goodies for the girls which was so nice. I don't think I've shared this yet, but we switched cars with them. Both car seats wouldn't fit in my CTS so they graciously offered to do an even trade with us and we took them up on it! It's a 2010 Lexus RX350 in the titanium color, like below, and I love it!!!

They will eventually get a new car but for now are driving mine. It was so weird seeing them pull up in my car yesterday. Mamy let me take a pic of her knee and OMG, it looks soooooo much better!!!! I am very proud of her!! She gets fitted for her bendable brace today!

Our old neighbors, Sally and Pinkie Haliburton, came by for a quick drink yesterday and to see the baby and showed up with this darling cookies bouquet! Well little miss HAD to have a cookie immediately so I didn't snap a photo but here's a pic of HER cookie she was so proud of. Thanks Sally and Pinkie, so thoughtful, and we loved seeing y'all!!!!

And last but certainly not least-I am very close to being back to my pre-pregnancy weight which is very exciting for me! I have about 6 lbs to lose before getting there but I'll take what I can get !!!

Lindley

A little bit about miss Tess....

Since I've been having blog issues and didn't get to put word content in my first Tess post, I wanted to make sure I went back and documented all of Tess's stats in a separate post. She was born via C section at 12:46 PM weighing 8 lbs 2 ounces and measured in at a whopping 21 inches long. She was 39 weeks and 1 day gestational age so almost 40 weeks. She has a full head of hair and the prettiest little eyes. She nursed immediately after they took her out of me, right there on the OR table, and has been going strong since! I wasn't able to nurse Cam so this is all new to me.

I put a few pics of Cam down below to compare the two and I really don't see much of a resemblance.

Update on my Mother in Law and getting settled in

Amy and Fred went to Dallas last week and Amy received incredible news!!! She I doesn't see Dr. Maale again until July, and even then, she can see him in Lubbock!! He just started seeing patients here so that will be really nice. He wanted to know if she could lift her leg and when she did, he said that was pretty amazing! She will be fitted for a bendable brace in Amarillo on Monday and start some light physical therapy. It's a custom brace so will take a few weeks to get but will definitely be worth the weight. totally worth it! Soooo, yay for NO more trips to Dallas! She doesn't see Dr Lemmon (plastic surgeon) again and will see an infectious disease doc here in Lubbock with Dr. Maale. She also got her picc line out so no more IV antibiotics, Just oral. She's come a long way and will be waking without her walker in no time!!!

As for Casa de Herring, we are just settling in. Life is a big crazy right now but I know we will get into a routine and eventually sleep again ;). Haha!! On another random note: I'm able to get my wedding rings back on, yay!! B was worried I had pawned them off for matching girl clothes!!

Brian took Cam to see Sesame Street live last Tuesday and she had a blast!!

And a sweet little ender for you. This may be the only time they love each other for a while so better capture now and savor! ;)

BIG sister!!!

We surprised Cam with a big sister party the day after we came home from the hospital and it was a hit! It was just family and we got her a new baby to match Mommy's new baby :). Mel and the kids got her Frozen dress-up gear and oh my goodness, she lives in this stuff!! Good job sis!! We decorated and got all ready while she was in the bath and boy, was she surprised!!!! Too fun, and I have my friend Tami to thank as I got the idea from her. Her pediatrician suggested it for their 2.5 year old daughter who also just became a big sister.

Ian and London love their baby Tess as well and as you can see, she's a bit yellow :(. We battled jaundice all last week but got it under control with some formula supplementation. The doc gave us clearance until her 2 week appt Friday where she will evaluate her again.

A little smile ;)

Grammy did her hair!

Check out this sweet video uploaded from when we were still in the hospital. Melt my heart!!

Great family and friends

As we were waiting for our nurse to get us checked in and everything, my sis comes marching into the room and I about died!! She was supposed to be working and totally took the day off! Made my heart happy.

Mamy and Slick went to get Cam from school and bring her up to meet Tess for the first time. I have no words for how sweet that moment was..

And another wonderful surprise was Debra walked into my room at about 7 PM and shocked the heck out of me!! She was NOT supposed to be in town!! You little stinker, Deb Deb!!! Speaking of Deb Deb: she's moving to lubbock!!!!!!! We are so excited!!!!

We have the best friends and family ever. Hands down. Several have dropped things off on our doorstep, sent meals, called, mailed packages, sent notes, given Cam big sister presents, and my mom stayed a week to help out for which we are beyond grateful.

Getting ready to go home from the hospital. This is a little out of order but ive had issues with uploading photos so I'll take what I can get! Haha!
