Cook Christmas

After the TOTs performance Trent and Kelly came over and we had Christmas. It's my folks year so when it's my in-laws off year we always try to get together for a few hours, do dinner, and open gifts. Trent and Kelly brought homemade lasagna, Caesar salad, bread, and an apple pie. Oh my goodness, it was delicious!!!!!!! Thanks for cooking T&K! We had so much fun I forgot to take pics! I snapped this of Tess and Slick but that's it! I'm so mad!!

My mother in law took this photo of us which turned out pretty cute.

And my mother in law is going to kill me but I secretly videoed her to remember how good she's walking. I don't want to ever forget because at Christmas last year, she was like this. She had no knee at all and couldn't walk. She was in a wheelchair 24/7.

Here she is now! God is good!!!!!

TOT's

Last Saturday, Cameron's Teams of Tomorrow group performed at the half time show of the LCU men's basketball game and she did great!!! I volunteered to help put dots out on the court but didn't know I would end up ON the court for the show. I was able to video my star up close and personal! She did great! Aunt Deb Deb and Mamy and Slick came to cheer her on. She performs again at the Lady Raiders basketball game Jan 28th and the whole fan-damily, including my sis and bro in law, my folks, and team Jones. Cam loves her some basketball!!! And when did she turn 14, because that's how old she looks here. Time needs to slow down!!!!

An unforgettable Frozen birthday party

Cameron's friend from school turned 4 last week so she has a frozen party at her house with a guest appearance from Anna! Oh my goodness, these girls were in heaven! And so was I! This Anna could have easily stepped away from Disney world to be at this party! She looked just like her, was super animated, so pretty, could sing like no other, and was so good with these little girls!!! So much fun!

Brian's office party and Nixie

Yesterday mom picked both girls up from school and went to Plainview with them so we could have Brian's staff over for the holidays and we had a blast!! Brian and I intended for this party to just be a happy hour with heavy Hors d’Oeuvres and dessert from 5:30-7:30 but 5 people were still at my house at 11:15!! I take that as a successful party where there was lots of fun had by all! Haha! We had market street cater it and oh my word, it was delicious! I made cookies and we had an open bar and it was just perfect. Brian waaaayyy over ordered but since people stayed so late round 2, 3, and 4 were had by many so we didn't have too much leftover. ;). I sent stuff home with pretty much everyone but overall, Brian ordered just the right amount. Their sweet and sour meat balls were off the hook and the bruschetta was super fresh! So so good!!! Dr. Phillips and his wife came and we laughed and laughed. I adore that man, Elaine, and all of this girls. Brian is very blessed to have such amazing women beside him. Every single day. He gave them iPad minis and they loved them! It's the least he could do for all they do for him!!! Thanks for a evening everyone.

And a huge thanks to Grammy and Pop for helping with the girls. My eyes opened at 4:30 this morning then not again until 7:58. Heaven!!!!!!

Nixie was the quite the hit at the party. I initially had her in her kennel but everyone wanted her out. Her little personality really showed and everyone thought she was super cute. She's a sweet little mess, that Nixie. Look at this pic of her when she was a puppy. Crazy how dark she was huh?!?!?

And this was taken this morning. It's amazing how much attention this fur baby gets when the girls are gone :)

A bunch of fun randomness and a prayer request

Last Sunday, the Jones's and Coopers joined us for brunch with Santa at the club and we left with no pic with Santa bc some certain someone wouldn't sit in his lap. CAMERON! I don't know why she does this sometimes bc after our turn was up she immediately started saying, with tears streaming down her face, 'I want a pic with Santa' .... Child, you wear us out sometimes. Tess happily sat up there, didn't smile, but didn't throw a fit either. Oh Cameron, whatever are we going to do with you, sugar?!?!? Love ya and let ya grow I suppose :) We didn't come home with a pic bc I wanted them BOTH in it. Sign... There's always next year. We did get a pretty good one with the Neiman's Santa a few weekends ago so one is better than none.

Mel and J and the kids came over for dinner Monday night and I cannot put into words how happy it makes me that I can see my sissy and fam on the drop of a hat like this. We went to their house Sunday night for Justin's ribs then had his brisket Monday. Delicious, sir. Thanks so much! I love our time together and the wonderful memories made. London used to be all about Cam but now she's all about Tess. She feeds her dinner, helps bathe her, carries her around, plays with her... It's so cute. She's going to be an amazing babysitter one day! And actually, Cameron and Ian play together now, it's super sweet.

Cameron's Christmas party at school was yesterday and I was able to make it. Another thing that makes me happier than words can describe is my job. I absolutely, positively, 110%, hands down, ADORE my job. The flexibility is remarkable and I'm so so thankful. There are nights I'm on the phone at 8 or 8:30 PM bc that's when candidates want to talk so I may miss a bedtime here and there but for the most part, I miss NOTHING of my kids. And that makes me happy. Very happy.

They had a book exchange and it was so cute! They all wanted to pick their own books :)

One of Cam's besties at school, Katie. Her Frozen bday party is this Saturday and Katie's mom told me Elsa and Anna will be in attendance. Cam can hardly contain herself.

So, our incredibly brilliant 3 year old totally called us out yesterday morning. Brian and I have really been proud of ourselves lately for 1.) remembering to hide Johnny, and 2.) hiding him in fun places &/or doing really clever things with him. Well, as we were hiding him Monday night we both couldn't remember if we had hidden him on the chandelier before or not so we went with it and first thing Tuesday morning Cam YELLS... 'Hey, he's already been there mommy!!!!' Oops......

My prayer request is my sissy. She was just diagnosed with the flu. Boo!!!!!!! :(. Please pray she heals quickly and easily and that no one else, in her family, gets it. Thank you!!!

Tomorrow night is Brian's company Christmas party here at the house so mom is keeping the girls overnight for us. Cameron is ecstatic, she hasn't been to Grammy's in a while!!!!

Lindley

A few Herring Happenings

So, a KKG alum friend of mine, Laura Vinson, is on the board for Ballet Lubbock and she got Cameron and I tickets to the Nutcracker last night and while Cameron had a great day yesterday, improving with every hour, I felt compelled to take her temp right before we went and sure enough... 101.8. My instinct was right. So, thousands of tears later, Brian made everything better by going to look at 'crystal lights.' The Doc told us we could go if she was feeling ok but I'm sure he also meant no fever with that as well. Sooo.. Needless to say, we didn't go but you better believe Cam asked to put the same outfit on this morning 9 minutes after she woke up so she could 'go to the ballet now that she's feeling better.' Bless her, I felt so bad. :(. She really wanted to go. I snapped the below photo this morning, she is feeling better but this flu thing is no joke!

My friend, Katie, who's also on the board, sent me this YouTube video that summarizes the Nutcracker in 5 minutes and Cam watched it over and over yesterday. There's always next year.....

We made a gingerbread house yesterday and had so much fun!!!

I think she like licking the icing he best!

She also performed several 'shows' for us and would tell us to clap for her when she finished.
My Lord, I'm so glad she's not lacking in the confidence department.
