Costa Rica Part Dos Take 2

Our second resort was was only a few miles from the Manuel Antonio national park, which is where we did our third excursion. We had a personal guide and saw unbelievable plants and flowers, 3 types of monkeys, crocodiles, sloths, lizards and iguanas, and all kinds of birds. I took lots of videos but for some reason my you tube account is acting up and not letting me upload videos. Once I get it up and running I'll post them. There are some really cute ones of the monkeys :)

The private beach inside the park

We went to Ronny's Place after to see the sunset. Our waiter at dinner told us it was the best view and it was!

What their schools looked like.

Mel had a swimsuit custom made....how cute is this?!! And how skinny is she?!? Dangit, no more Imperial beers for me!

The harbor in Quepos

Our last dinner was a lil Costa Rican BBQ to see if it held a candle to my Brian's Q and it didn't, but was still delicious! That's the huge grill they were cooking everything on! I for pork ribs who were excellent and Brian got BBQ'd whole fish and that it was. Oh My.........

Overall, this was such an incredible trip. Im already ready to go back but sure missed my babies! A big thank you to Deb Deb and my MIL for taking care of the girls. We owe y'all BIG TIME!!!!

A bit of drama though was my father felt the need to bring a gun, just because he was unsure of our safety, and he got out of LBB just fine but he failed to declare it on the immigration paperwork so, on our way home, the Costa Rican police totally contained him for two hours at the airport before releasing him. Fantastic. ;). For a minute there, I didn't know if they were gonna let him go!

Well, they did and we made it home safely. Thanks mom and dad, we loved every minute!!

Cheers,
Lindley

Costa Rica Part Dos

After a beautiful 3 days in the rain forest our travel agency drove us 5 hours down to the South Pacific coast where we stayed at a lovely, more kid-friendly resort on the beach.

The window in our shower. I forgot to take pics of our room here but it was so fun and beautiful! It was more 'beach-y and rustic' whereas the other was more plush and luxurious.

Poolside with cocktail in hand

Look at that ocean in the background. I mean, could life get any better?!!?!?

Sis and I were hooked on the new 50 Shades book, 'Grey.'

Our lite buddy

Coconuts on the Beach!

We were at this resort for 4 days so we had two beach/pool days and one of those days the guys went deep see fishing where the restaurant prepared the fish they caught for us. Delicious! My dad caught the biggest fish, which was a red snapper. Between the three of them, the chef was able to prepare an individual ceviche for everyone, two huge orders of fish sticks, and 8 filets. It was so yummy!!!

Stay tuned for the other half of the photos in my last post.
Cheers,
Lindley

Costa Rica Part Uno Take 2

Here are more photos from my last post that wouldn't fit due to the photo storage limit. Apparently I'm gonna have to upload these in more than two posts.

The restaurant at our resort was off the hook!'

We weren't sure if this was a dog or trunk-less elephant

The hot springs were so fun! We took our little blue tooth wireless speaker and jammed out to some music while sippin' on mojitos and the local beer, Imperial.

Everything was wide open! Bars, restaurants, hotels, shops...none of them had doors or windows! It was crazy! Lead us to believe there was no crime whatsoever.

Aaaannndd.... one too many Imperials. Oops.

I love my family and am so proud of my parents for setting a great example

Hello frizz. Yikes, the humidity was insane. Therefore, so was my hair.

Stay tuned for Part Dos of our trip!

Costa Rica Part Uno

My parents, sis and bro-in-law, and Brian and I just spent a week in paradise and I still can't believe it's over :(.

What an incredible trip. We have had this planned for a little over two years now, to celebrate my parents 40th Anniversary, and boy, was it a sweet sweet celebration. Unbelievable. Thanks mom and dad for the trip of a lifetime. One we will cherish forever. These are not near all of our photos, only the ones I took with my phone. My sis is making us a scrap book with everyone's combined photos but for now, I'm just going to use my iPhone pictures. And, I'm breaking the trip up into 2 different posts

Natalia, our greeter at the Costa Rica airport. Mom booked the entire trip through Costa Rican Vacations and they did a phenomenal job.

Our ride to the resort

Oh Costa Rica. My dear heavens. Where do I even begin?!!!?!?
Unbelievable beauty!! We stayed three nights in central Costa Rica by the arenal volcano in a beautiful hotel resort that was literally ALL rainforest. It had two swimming pools, like 10 hot spring pools that were scattered out on the rolling hills of the resort with these little trails in between and hardly any children. Blissful!! It was very secluded and fantastic!

Roses made out of toilet paper on every single toilet in this joint

Meet Theresa. We named her. This beetle lived IN THE LOBBY on this decorative rock thing. All the time. She moves but not fast. And she flies. My Lord, you can shoot me now if I were to be around when she took flight. She.Is.Huge! Probably 5 inches long. But very nice ;). She stays there pretty much all day except when she's hungry which she will fly away for a while, eat, then come back.

The view from my BED!!!! Our rooms were HUGE and lovely! With a hot tub to boot!

Best.Shower.Ever

Everything was so plush and these hydrangea were something to behold

We ziplined and white water rafted while here at the Arenal Kioro Resort and Spa and Holy Moly, the most fun ever!! And we were HOT in our ziplining gear but those photos are on my sisters camera

Cheers,
Lindley
