Brian went to Scottsdale last Thursday - last night and we sure missed him! He had an implant CE course out there, and a lot of wives went, but I just couldn't take off work. Plus, I was looking forward to the quality mommy/daughter time with my girls.
We took Cam to ballet class last Thursday and this is what Tess did the entire 45 minutes. Sooooooo close!!!!
Friday, mom came to town and stayed the weekend with us, making it an Epic Grammy/Mommy/Daughter weekend!
She kept the girls while a few of us went out to celebrate Debra's birthday and we had a great time! We went to Las brisas and it was fabulous! It was super windy that day but a nice temp so the screened in patio worked nicely.
Happy birthday Deb Deb. We love you!!!!!!
Saturday morning we went to this sweet girls' 3rd birthday party and had a blast!! It was an Under the Sea 'Ariel' party and so fun!
Look at this adorable play house she got for her birthday. Joey and his dad put that together and I heard it was super easy. ;). Way to go guys!!!
Brian could always be a photographer. How awesome are these photos?? This was a storm rolling in last Saturday and Brian got out the super duper lens and started clicking away. Looks like the world is coming to an end huh???
Friday night, Deb came and kept the girls while Brian and I enjoyed a few hours of TTU baseball. We had a nice time, relaxed, watched some good baseball, ate some seeds and popcorn, and were home and in bed by 10. I was so excited to get to bed at a decent hour knowing I didn't have to wake up early and get ready for work.
Well, I woke up to work, alright.
4:37 AM Cam cries out that she's thirsty and her throat hurts so I get her a quick drink and back to bed I go. 4:45 AM... Cam is Screaming. I run into her room and she's thrown up all over her sheets. Mind you, in between gags, she's screaming/crying 'I didn't get any on my lambie mommy. I didn't get any on my lambie!!!!'
Bless her. So, we get her cleaned up, strip the sheets, and put her in bed with us. You think she goes back to sleep? Um no. She keeps fidgeting so I'm on pins and needles thinking I'm going to need to make a mad dash for the bowl on my nightstand but she never gets sick again. Matter of fact, at 5:23 AM, while lying in bed with us, she says she's hungry. Really child?? You just yacked all over the place!!!
So, needless to say, at around 6:20 she and I get up and let dad sleep. She's acting completely fine. Has a waffle, then a snack around 9. All is good. The girls play and have a great morning. I've chalked this one up to be a little drainage nausea from the cold she's had.
All the while, this sweet thing wakes up super happy but feels pretty hot. 102.9 fever. My Lord. Please help me. But she's pretty happy.
When we were at the doc a week ago for her 1 year appt., Dr Dalton told me her ears looked horrible but she hadn't shown signs of an ear infection so instead of slapping her on antibiotics, I ask Dr D to put a note in her chart should her fever spike and we need medicine. Well, sure enough, I'm calling the on call nurse on Saturday morning and she calls me back immediately. I get the Rx and alls good.
Cam was feeding Tess Cheerios and Tess kept biting her finger. Haha, it was really quite comical.
We had such a great morning we decided to hit Caprock Cafe for lunch. About 6.4 minutes into it, Cam refuses chips and salsa (which she NEVER does!!) and then proceeds to lay her head down on the table. I'm sorry, but what did you do with my daughter?!?!?!? She was going down hill and going downhill fast! So, we asked our server to box our food up and off we went. Cam ASKS to take a nap withOUT eating lunch. Poor baby is sick. So, she goes down at like 12:45 and is still asleep at 3. She was supposed to perform with her TOT basketball group at 3 pm at LCU but we weren't about to wake her. She was so excited and had been talking about it all morning though. But again--she is sick. So, she wakes up around 3:20 and is puny with a capital P. I make sure the bowl is close to her. She asks for water as she claims her throat hurts so we get her a sippy of water and I head to my bedroom to do something. Well, I hear screaming and knew immediately what was happening but I didn't make it into the living room in time. She projectile vomits everywhere. Like three times. I got the bowl under her chin by round 4 but she had nothing left by then. My Lord. Brian and I just stand there paralyzed. The bowl was right beside her!!!!!! Why couldn't she just grab the bowl?!?? Ugh! But ....we felt so bad for her because she is crying and saying she is sorry. Sweet thing. She then goes ahead and says, as B and I are on our hands and knees cleaning up the tile, 'shooooey, I'm stinky.' Crinkling her nose while she's saying it.
Thank you Cam. Why yes, yes you are. Brian and I were thinking back and it's almost been a year & 1/2 since she last did this, so it's not often but when she does, it's awful! BUT, we got it all taken care of and don't worry that I just threw the rug away. Straight up threw that bad boy in the dumpster and got me new one! See last pic below. So, anywho... Saturday was pretty much shot but Sunday, everyone slept and woke up feeling good! We were on a mission for a new rug so we hit Home Depot and found one!!!
Tess was really into the driving.
My new, CLEAN, rug!! ;) I actually like it better than the old one.
My sis bought her greatest fan, AKA my precious niece, London, VIP tickets to her event here in LBB today. London wasn't happy at all about meeting the 'Soul Surfer.' :). London adores this girl. So fun!!!
So, a few nights ago, the lovely West TX wind snapped one of our gorgeous, full, and blooming trees in half, landing right on top of our roof. Awesome.
Look at these curls on Tess's head!!! Love!!!
And, this girl and her honorary 'one ton club' for cotton last year's husband were in town last night for the reception and we got to have a few drinks. So fun randomly seeing your bestie at 8:30 pm on a Thursday night.
Cam serenading her sister on her birthday. So precious!
All smiles the morning of her FIRST birthday!
Before Tess's birthday party we had to hunt eggs at the club and take a pic with the Easter Bunny. Pics on that later.
This is how you do a crazy egg hunt with thousands of other toddlers!!!

Tess's first Easter
A Tess's one year doctors appointment BEFORE shots. There was NO music playing, this chic just dances on command!!!
All went great, Dr. Dalton said she's perfect. She weighs 22lbs (80th percentile) and is 31 inches (99th percentile) long.
She is completely off bottles, drinking whole milk like a champ, eating people food like a grown man, sleeping 12-13 hour nights... she's so happy..... I'm mean, I'm still in shock. She literally grew up before our eyes!! We love you sweet girl, happy FIRST Birthday!!
Thanks Mandie and Drea for our first ball pit!!! It's a hit!!!
Born and raised in Plainview, TX, I graduated from PHS in 1997 & carried on a family TX Tech University tradition from 97-01. I got a bachelors degree in Marketing & moved to Dallas in June of '01 to work for my very first job with Staff Care, Inc. Who would have thought 2 West Texans, who knew a lot of the same people, would meet on Match.com and actually work out? Not me! Brian & I met on 9/19/08 & married at The Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas on 5/15/10 with 94 of our closest family & friends. We recently moved from Dallas to Lubbock be closer to family and allow Brian an opportunity to fulfill his lifelong dream of practicing dentistry out in W. Texas. He bought Dr. Ronald Phillips practice & we could not be more thankful for this opportunity. Our greatest joys are our babies: Cameron Elizabeth, age 3, Tess Leanne, 9 months, and Nixie, our first baby, a toy Schnauzer, who is 5. Life & God are good and we are blessed beyond measure. I have created this blog to capture moments with family & friends as tomorrow is never promised.
