Happy 60th Gary!!!!

Pat Coleman, I'm impressed!!! Gary was just beside himself, very SURPRISED, and we were delighted to be part of his special night. Your planning and timing was impeccable!!! And, I love how in love you guys still are today after many years of marriage. Thank you for your friendship, leading by example, and setting the bar super high with your incredible children. What a beautiful young lady and handsome young man! Mitch and Collin are great and Brian and I are better people knowing them. Thank you for a fun night filled with laughter, celebration, and love. Happy 60th Birthday Dr. Coleman

And, when their daughter, Collin, came into the room.

Sue had an 80's theme at work on Friday, hence the fabulous outfit! Lovin' the tights, Sue! :)

I had to leave the party a little early to get Cameron in bed, and when we got home she was so happy! Had to snap a few photos. She is feeling 100 times better! Mamy, darling outfit!!!!

6 oz and she's out!

Photo Shoot

Today is Brian's early day at the office so I leave for work around 7:20 once Juli gets there as Brian leaves at 6:15. Normally I leave just as Cameron is getting up but on Thursdays I get to feed and dress her. Well, today I had some extra time so we had a mini photo shoot before Juli got there. Love this precious baby!!!!

Thanks aunt Debra for my owl outfit!!! The hat actually came from my friend/co-worker Kirsten Tracer back when I had my work shower. It's been too big all this time but fits like a glove now!

It's raining today so I had to put her rain boots on but miss Priss wasnt so much into those. ;). So cute though! Thanks Aunt Susan!

Cameron is doing MUCH better! We think this formula is working and that she's on the mend! I also think the reflux was hurting her pretty bad too so the Zantac had been helpful as well!

Have a great day, all!!!

Lindley

Hard time....

We have had a rough time with Cameron lately. She cries 24/7 (And, I am NOT exaggerating. She does sleep at night, thank goodness, but when she’s awake, she cries. A LOT) and still isn’t pooping on her own. She was extremely constipated over the weekend and was pooping turds like humans poop. Sorry to be so vulgar but it’s true. She was so clogged up we had to give her an enema. That was NOT fun! I took her to the Dr on Monday then had and f/up appt yesterday and had to take her for an X ray of her belly to see what's going on. The results came back and all looks clear, thank goodness! Sooooo.....it’s basically SEVERE colic and although this was supposed to happen earlier on, it can still develop at a later age and can continue, worst case scenario, until they are 1. We had to, yet again, change her formula to this SUPER EXPENSIVE hypoallergenic stuff proven to manage colic due to a cow's milk allergy and work fast, often within 48 hours. Brian and Trent both had a milk allergy and it is hereditary so this is probably the problem and should hopefully fix it quick! It’s the Enfamil Nutramigen with Enflora LGG and has hypoallergenic proteins that are easy to digest and super small so the body does not recognize them as a potential allergen. It also contains the probiotic LGG, which helps to promote a healthy gut lining. So, please say a prayer this stuff works and gets her feeling better ASAP! The only problem is she doesn't like it. :(. It smells horrific, I wouldn't like it either. Bless her. So, we're mixing half and half with her old and new formula to t least get some of it down. Then, they also put her on Miralax, Zantac for her reflux, pedialyte when dehydrated.... U name it, we have it. We are keeping CVS in business!

But, you do have your happy moments, sweet girl and thank goodness because mommy, daddy, and Juli are very frustrated so knowing u can laugh gives us hope! ;) Bless your heart, your daddy and I just want you to feel better.

Please say a prayer Cameron gets well and starts feeling better ASAP!!!

Fun Weekend with The Kimes'

Trisha and Jonathon, friends of Brian's from dental school, came into town from Austin, for the SW Dental Conference and we had a great time! I took no photos, and I'm so mad because there were some really cute times of them holding Cameron. :( Sorry about that.

Dorette watched Cameron Friday night while we all re-united with a bunch of Brian's dental school friends at The Elbow Room, drank beer, and ate their famous pizza and calzones! Trisha and Jonathon are expecting their first baby this summer so we were home pretty early, but still had a great time, and you're such a good sport, Mamma Kimes! :) Hang in there.... Baby K will be here before you know it!

Saturday, I had to work so they just laid around the house and played with Cameron, then when I got home Jon Boy cooked us a fantastic lunch, which consisted of grilled artichokes and beer can chicken. DEE-LISH! We just laid lowand watched football all day, which was extremely nice!

So glad ya'll came to see us Trisha and Jon Jon. See you guys soon!

Rice cereal and Rolling over!!!!

Juli fed Cameron rice cereal for the first time yesterday and she did great!!! Juli's son, Levi, is 2 months older than Cameron, so I asked her, being the rice cereal expert that she is, if she wouldn't mind testing Cameron out for us during her noon feeding and she said she did great! 8 bites! She also rolled over for the first time last night as well and you would have thought Brian and I had just won the lottery! HAHA! We were so excited! Big day around The Herring House!!!!!

Fun Saturday and 4 months old!!!

So this past Saturday, Cameron and I had brunch and lunch plans with friends and just had the best time! We met my dear friend, Kathy, for brunch at The Mecca (OMG! Ah-may-zing!!!) and then my other good friends, Debra and Kim, for lunch at Mimi's. I didn't snap a photo at Mimi's (shame on me! We just got busy talking and I forgot) but here is Cam and Aunt Kathy enjoying a little Mecca goodness. I ran to the bathroom and when I came back Kathy didn't have Cameron. I was like, "where is my child!?!?". One of the waitresses had her up at the front showing her off to the other waitresses and owner! Wonder where she gets 'liking to be the center of attention' from?? Haha Had fun catching up girls... Let's do it again soon!!

And yesterday was her 4 month birthday! It was a bitter sweet day though... Pediatrician appt and more shots also. :o( Bless her, she HATED the shots! Screamed bloody murder for 20 minutes afterwards! She was not happy! But we got home and gave her more Tylenol and she was fine! Here are her before and after photos! BEFORE the Dr... Happy as a lark

At home, later that night

You weigh 15.14 lbs (90%ile) and are 26 inches long (97%ile). Dr. Berger said you are perfect! I'm 4 months old!!!

We could not be more blessed and LOVE you to pieces! You are really developing a cute little personality, smile all the time, talk A LOT, and although a bit dramatic at times, we wouldnt trade u for the world! We are having the time of our lives with u and love watching you grow! Thank you for being you and making your mommy and daddy proud parents! Here's to another healthy checkup and celebration of being half a year old in a few months! Cheers, Lindley Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Some pics our nanny took....

Levi, our nanny's son she's bringing with her to our house each day, and Cameron. Look at them holding hands... already BFF's! :o)

All their "GEAR" :o)

Lunch time!

Our little Texas Tech baby!

Juli went to A&M and I purposely made her a Tech key to be funny. She was not amused! LOL

Crib Napping

Ok, so I just had to post this because it literally warms my heart to know that my nanny cares so much for our daughter. I mean, I never thought she wouldn't care, but you just never know for sure how someone's going to be with your child and I have to say we're so pleased and blessed beyond imagination to have her! She has just taken such a sincere and vested interest in Cameron so I wanted to share the below about her. Side note: since she started this week, she's gotten Cameron to nap in her crib like a champ and when I asked her how she did it she responded with the below email. I.Love.This.Girl! My Hero for sure! And, you never know: some of you may need tips on getting your child to nap in the crib as well so if you do: here you go! She's a pro! Thank you for all you do, Juli. :o)

1. lay the swaddle blanket down on the floor and swaddle her there. It helps me to get it REALLY tight from there. Cam seems to enjoy it, maybe she thinks I'm rough-housing...who knows. ;) Have it ready before y'all go in there for nap time

2. rock and sing to her in her room. But before any of that (even before the swaddle), turn off the lights and turn on the whale. Then swaddle her and rock and/or walk and bounce. If she's fussy after the swaddle, I usually do the walk and bounce with the paci in her room. If she's fine, then I'll start with the rocking and paci. I always sing Brahm's lullaby to her and hold her real close, on her side like a baby.

3. If she's still sucking, but has her eyes closed for awhile, I'll start to get up and move toward the crib. I want to teach her early that it's ok to suck and fall asleep on her own. After I lay her down in the crib (this process takes about 5 min because I move REALLY slow), I hover over her and help keep the paci in her mouth. I don't stop singing and hover over her for another 3-4 minutes.

4. Sneak out!!

5. If she wakes up to cry after 10-15 min of sneaking out, I return to her after 5-10 minutes. But I don't pick her up immediately. I put the paci back in her mouth so she learns that crying doesn't equate to being picked up. I'll try this for a few minutes then pick her up if she's still fussy. Then I try the whole process over until I can get her to stay asleep in the crib. This has taken up to an hour a couple of times.

Juli

Exersaucer!

I cannot believe she's big enough to sit in this thing! And, her feet touch the bottom! CRAZY!

Lindley
