Prayers please......

Ok everyone, I have a prayer request:

Amy, Brian's mom, is having her knee replacement taken out this coming Monday. She was scheduled to see the Dr tomorrow in Dallas but after he saw the last picture she sent him, he's decided to go ahead and take it out. He was going to 'consider' that option tomorrow during her visit, but he said it looks too bad and must come out. She's just had too many complications and they think that foreign substance in her body is causing all these infections so they are removing it completely. I honestly think only good things can come going forward, bless her heart. She's been through the ringer with this one! Please pray they find the problem and heal her ASAP! We need our Mamy back! Its been 3 solid months that she's been flat on her back (August 5th was her original surgery) and she should be healed by now. :(.

She will have to wait at least 6 weeks before anything else is done so not only should we pray for a smooth surgery and recovery this Monday, but for a peaceful and easy 6 weeks post surgery. As you can imagine, this has all been very hard and quite depressing on Amy and Fred, so please lift them up and pray He gets them through this easily.

Thank you!!!

It's a girl!!!!!!!!!!

Well, our sonographer told us yesterday we are having another little girl and that she looks perfect! Strong heartbeat at 147, good fluid around her, and that she's a 'good size' baby! She weighs 7 oz right now and she informed us that's rather large for only being 17 weeks along! Uh oh!!! ;). We like them fat and healthy though so bring on them 'good size' babies!! Here's a picture of our baby girl now. We didn't get to do this with Cam so I'm extremely fascinated they can really tell what the sex is by this picture. Crazy!! We are so excited and know Cam will love having a sister. Brian and I have decided on a name that we love and Cameron is already calling her baby Tess when we point to my belly. In fact, she called that she was having a baby sister about 7 weeks ago, no lie!!!

Tess Leanne Herring

My Grandmother Dottie's middle name was Lea, as is my sister's but she spells it 'Lee' and then my Father-in-law, Fred, had an Annie on his side so it's a combo of both. Cameron was obviously named after her daddy and then Elizabeth comes from both my side and Brian's mom's side. So I feel like we're including all families one way or another. And I love that.

I do have to ask for your prayers though: I have Placenta Praevia again, and for those who don't know what that is, the definition is:
Placenta praevia (placenta previa AE) is an obstetric complication in which the placenta is inserted partially or wholly in lower uterine segment.[1] It can sometimes occur in the later part of the first trimester, but usually during the second or third. It is a leading cause of antepartum haemorrhage (vaginal bleeding). It affects approximately 0.4-0.5% of all labours.[2]

It's not a HUGE deal but could lead to pre-term labor, and well, we all know what happens with pre-term labor... I do NOT want another NICU visit. Ever. And, please know Cameron didn't come early because of Placenta Praevia. She came early because of an abruption but the fact that I had this with Cam at 17 weeks as well makes me nervous. My Praevia went away at 21 weeks with Cam so I'm hoping the same with Tess, but you just never know. My next sono is when I'm 21 weeks so here's hoping it moves between now and then! My OB is very aware and monitoring me closely so that's comforting.

But, overall, things looks great and I'm feeling good! I've gained 10 lbs so far and am slowly replacing my regular clothes with maternity ones ;)

Have a great week, all.

Cheers,
Lindley

Deb Deb

She came to visit us and we had a fun time, although it wasn't long enough. :(. She brought Cam all these clothes, I felt like she was our personal shopper!!!! So nice, Deb thank you, thank you!!! One of my favorite things she brought Cameron was this dress. She wore it to church yesterday and was by far the cutest little girl there! ;)

Speaking of church, we attended FUMC downtown's traditional service yesterday and I LOVED every single thing about it! I think we have found our new 'home' and that makes me happy.

I mean, how beautiful is this church?!?!? I just love it!!!

And lastly: Brian refinished the babies' changing table over the weekend and it looks great! Cam is using it now as her changing table broke, and God willing, Cam will not be in need of a changing table come next April!

Have a good week all!!

Cheers,
Lindley

Grammy and Pop's house

7th St park in Plainview. Old, neat park

All her 'gear' at grammy's house.

Our new favorite movie.

Just a little 'guns up' action before bed, and of course, while watching Annie. Annie was my favorite movie as a kid as well. Sweet sweet childhood memories with this one...

And, this could not be more true. Love me some fall/holidays. Especially pregnant! ;) I was prego with Cam during the dead heat of the summer and as sad as I am to not be able to have my cold miller lights during football season, I do believe being prego during the fall is MUCH more comfortable!

Team Peltoma, The Vine, and Gravity 3D

Kayla and Craig were in Plainview last weekend for Kayla's dad's birthday so they came and stayed a night in LBB with us! Although I didn't take any photos while they were here, I sure do have some great ones of them in my albums. How cute are they?!?! These are in order from most recent to oldest. I think I have more pics of them than I do of B and I!

We got a sitter and went to a The Vine for dinner and I would not recommend it. Super slooooooowwwwww service and waaaaayyyy overpriced! It's the people who used to own the Grapevine. They are getting older and just aren't as involved in the restaurant as they used to be and you can totally tell. We enjoyed our company though and we're happy to see a Team Peltoma, even if it was for a short time.

Last night mom took Cam to Plainview for the night so Brian and I got all sorts of crazy with a night out at the theater ;). We saw Gravity and holy @&*#!!!!!!!! That was intense!!!!!! We saw it in 3D and the special effects are off the hook!!! Not much of a plot, and it's only 90 minutes, but super glad we saw it in the theater bc watching this in your home just wouldn't be the same.
Thanks for the night off mommy. Tonight I am going to Plainview for the night. I have to get Cam back somehow so instead of meeting her half way we just decided I could go spend the night and Brian could have a guys night. Mom just remodeled the guest bathroom and needs my help on picking out decor so should be fun.

Hope everyone has a happy hump day!

Lindley

Caitlyn, Myrtle, Gus, and October 29th

Ok so Caitlyn is the name of Cameron's new bedding that Mamy so graciously bought for us. How cute is this stuff?!?!? She found it online at Dillard's and I just fell in love with it!

I went to Dillard's to buy a sham and see how it would go with her stuff and I'd say it could all be a set!!!! It looks great with pretty much everything she has, pictures and all!!!

I've had this shower curtain for some time and I'm so glad I didn't get rid of it! We will bring this back out once the baby is here!!

How cute is this pillow!?!?

This is the Little Red 2's (LR2) new changing table, something I've been looking for for over 5 months now!!!! I love it!!!! I'll post after pics soon once I get it cleaned up as I think Cam is gonna use it now until the baby comes as her changing table is broken. This pic doesn't do it justice!!!!!

This is Cameron's new chair for her room since we are putting the leather glider in the nursery. I adore this rocking chair and adore it even more knowing it only set me back a whopping $65 from this darling little antique store on 34th and University. I love the retro fabric too! ;). B thinks I'm recovering it but he is soooo mistaken ;) It's growing on me everyday!

Meet Myrtle, Amy's wound vac. This is hooked up to her knee 24/7 to constantly suck 'stuff' out of her incision. It's with her all the time, in this little purse thing, so Amy gave it a name. And rightly so! ;)

Gus is Amy's cane. Don't have a pic of it but he's her other traveling companion that's around 24/7 so she couldn't leave him out!

And, October 29th is a VERY big day for us !!! At 1:15 PM we should know if LR2 is a boy or girl!!!!!!

Cheers,
Lindley

Potty Training

Sooooo..... Looks like this is gonna have to wait. Cameron needs to be really ready and we need a full weekend of nothing planned and well, neither are in the cards for us right now so we will be postponing. We sure talk about it a lot though but she just isn't ready. One day...

Hope everyone's had a nice weekend.

Eyes and Ears

So, I got contacts on Monday. Yes, yes, you read that right. Aren't most NORMAL people supposed to get these when they are like 15?? Not me. I'm gonna go ahead and wait until I'm 34. Because that's how I roll. Thanks to the lovely acts of 'aging' and 'hormones' I'm a bit delayed in this whole process but better late than never, right?!?! I've had glasses for almost 5 years for night driving, tv watching in bed, sporting events, concerts, etc, but I was getting to where I needed them all the time! But the problem is: I hate these glasses so I'll gladly welcome contacts! They are too narrow and gave me headaches when worn for long periods of time.

B and I had to bust out the 'ole sharpie marker this morning to avoid any mix-ups ;)

He's worn contacts for years, like most NORMAL people, and frustrates the heck out of me because by the time I've taken mine out or put them in, he's taken his out/put them in, brushed his teeth, checked FB and Twitter, and is already asleep or out the door for work!! Gggrrrrrr!!!!! I know I'll get quicker at this but man, I'm super slow and paranoid at this point. But, most importantly---I CAN SEE!!!!!!! So that's all that really matters!

As for ears, Cam had her follow-up ENT appt this morning since her surgery and her ears look good! There's a little crusty wall on the right ear that he wants us to use some floxin drops on but overall they look good as does her hearing! Praise The Lord!!!!

Speaking of hearing, I thought I might leave you with a little taste of what we get to wake up to each morning. Who needs alarm clocks with this sweet goodness?!?!?

A whole bunch of stuff!!!!

Our Red Raiders are 6-0 baby!!!!!!
The Keatings' came to town last weekend for the game and stayed with us and the girls had a great time! They just played and played and had and even bigger time at the tailgate! We were out there by 9 AM sharp with bloody's and breakfast burritos!
Carlos is hidden behind Carter!

Koozies are so fun!!!

Carter getting her guns up. Is she not the most beautiful little girl ever?!?!?! Her hair is gorgeous!!!!

Cam can totally get her guns up but wasn't cooperating this time

My long-time friend growing up Suzanne, and her family stopped by which was so fun and her girls are getting so big!!!

The Keatings' even brought their Bulldog, Rocco, who looks quite scary but is really rather sweet ;)

We had a wonderful time seeing them and wish them the absolute best in El Paso. They recently moved there for new job opportunities and I'm so very proud of them. See you guys in a few weeks for the OSU game!!!
Saturday morning during breakfast my daughter busts out with "I'm in the Lords Army." I have never taught her that song but adore that her school did. Made my heart happy. ;).
The lyrics, for those who don't know them, are:
I may never march in the infantry
Ride in the cavalry
Shoot the artillery
I may never fly o'er the enemy
But I'm in the Lord's army!
Yes Sir!

YouTube Video

And, last but certainly not least:
We will have company in town for a solid month and I couldn't be more excited! I absolutely love to entertain and if there's one thing that will speed up my pregnancy faster than it's already going is staying busy and spending time with friends.
1.). Last weekend we had The Keatings'
2.) This weekend we have Kayla and Craig coming for Saturday night
3.) Debra is coming the following weekend
4.) And, Team Hale is coming the first weekend in November for the Tech/OSU game.
I.Love.Football Season!!!
And I love that I have incredible friends who wanna come stay with us!

You know it's time to start potty training when.....

You receive a text like the below from your child's teacher at school:

Apparently Cameron took her diaper off at home b/c she didn't have one on! No accident though anywhere that I've found (that's good!) :)

And..... So it begins.

Unfortunately, she's done this before a few different times during the day within the last couple weeks as well as in bed at night.

The other night, an hour or so after we put her down, she pooped then proceeded to take her PJ's and dirty diaper off then call for me that she had pooped. She was so proud and don't you worry that she went ahead and removed the poop from her diaper and gently laid it on her mattress. I have no idea why she felt the need to do that, but I about died!!!! Luckily it was solid and not runny but still! Gross!!!

She pulled a little stunt like this on her Mamy probably 7 months ago. My mother in law laid her down for a nap without her pants on (just her diaper and shirt was on) one afternoon and the next thing she knows Cameron is screaming yucky from the bedroom. She walks in to find Cam diaperless and playing with her poop!!!!! She about died as well!!! We didn't think too much about it though bc she was a lot younger then & had no pants on but this shenanigan she pulled the other night, she removed her pants AND her diaper!!!! Ugh!!!!

And so it begins......

Prayers are appreciated.

Thanks & Cheers,
Lindley

Just a few Herring Happenings

So, we had my sis and her family over for dinner last night and my husband made this:

Oh.Em.Gee. This was some good stuff!!! If you google 'best lasagna in the world,' this recipe comes up. It's been listed as the #1 lasagne recipe in the world on allrecipes.com since 2001! No joke and we darn near polished off the entire pan last night! Thanks for the good eatin' babe!!

Speaking of my sis: London got this sweet muffin for her 6th birthday last weekend and poor dog, I just wish it could get some attention ;). Haha!!! Kidding. London NEVER puts her down!!!

Meet Macy Jones, a whopping 3 lb 9 week old yorkiepoo. She's pretty cute.....

My coworker each and every day. My sis and bro in law left this stuffed squirrel over one night and Nixie has always chewed up toys like this, but for some reason she's salvaging this one. Hey, we all need a pillow, right?!?!??!?

Hope everyone's having a good week.

Cheers,
Lindley

2nd time's the charm???

We're sure gonna hope so! Last October, Cam had tubes put in her ears and they failed miserably!! She went quite a while without problems but over the last 8 months she's had infection after infection so our ENT here in LBB felt like another set was necessary as well as the removal of her adenoids. We had the surgery last Wednesday and overall, she did beautifully, but seeing her absolutely hysterical in recovery after coming out of anesthesia is enough to FRY you as a mommy! She was uncontrollable! It.Was.Awful!!!!!!! Can't even describe it in words. Mom was there to help me thank goodness as B had to go to work and lets just say mom and I were sweating and exhausted after she finally calmed down. Poor thing. They had to completely put her under, intubation and all, since they removed her adenoids and she HATED that IV!! Once the nurse removed it she calmed down, and we were politely assured several times this was completely normal behavior for kids this age who come out of surgery and have an IV. So, that made me feel better! I have precious photos BEFORE all this went down and none immediately AFTER! ;) I need some versed to wipe that from my memory. Once again, I could have NEVER done this without my amazing mommy! Thanks mom, you are The Best!!!! Cameron thanks you too!!!
Waiting to be called back.

Watching cartoons waiting for doc to come in

They gave her this little stuffed moose and she loves it!!

AFTER surgery, AFTER all the madness when she finally gave in and fell asleep. Broke my heart seeing her like that. And, what was even worse is that she had NO clue what was happening. No one was home. When you looked her in the eyes, flailing and screaming something awful, it was like there was no one there. She was out of it completely :(.

I'm so happy to have my girl back!!! I love you more than you know, Cameron Elizabeth.......

Lindley

Amy update

Well, she went to the Dr today to get her stitches out and he only took out 4. :(. She will go back to Dallas in 2 wks for him to look at it again. He did say he was pleased with the way it looks, but wants her to know that she is probably looking at another surgery next August or September before she can say the knee replacement was worth it. Man, she's had a rough haul at this but at least she's moving in the right direction. May be slow, but that's ok. Slow is ok, as long as it's progress! Hand in there Mamy....

Cheers,
Lindley
