Day 2 on our own....

We had another great day! Please know some of my posts may be boring or seem redundant but I really just want to have all of this documented for my own sake. Having her home is just so wonderful and I don't wanna miss a thing!

I had to, of course, wake her up at 7:45 to feed as I really am trying to follow "Baby Wise's" philosophy of "eat, play, sleep". So, she ate a whopping 4 oz, then took a bath, which she loves, then did her first tummy time for a bit.

Thanks, Sue, for the precious outfit!

She looks so little next to Nixie! ;)

She loved tummy time, surprisingly enough!

Then, it was nap time in her CRIB!!! (yes, she's such a big girl!!!). Once she woke up she helped me in the kitchen but, as you can see, she thought making homemade ranch dressing was rather boring. ;).

Once we finished in the kitchen we took a little 20 minute walk. She loves walking and mom needs all the help she can get to get this baby weight off!!

Daddy got home around 5 and hooked up our video monitor so we could try putting her in it tonight and that thing is cool!!!! See below... We are VERY impressed with the quality of this monitor. Its hard to see since this was taken at night but it really is a great monitor. I was a little nervous about putting her in her crib but she did great and we all slept so much better!

Cheer,
Lindley

Our first day home alone....

We had a good day today!!!! Little bit slept till 8 and probably would have slept longer had her mother not woken her up to get her on a schedule for the day. We ate then got dressed for the day. We watered the flowers, sat out on our front porch in our rocking chairs, and she took a good nap while I wrote some thank you notes.

Around 10 AM I got notification from Shelbie that Cameron's sneak peak from her newborn photo session was ready.... How gorgeous is the below photo? You would never know that picture was taken outside would you? She's so talented!!! More to follow...

We played dress up for her 2 aunts, Melissa and Kelly

We cuddled....

Then, Donna Burnett, a highly recommended in-home day care from my pledge sister, Erin Thomas, called to tell me she has an opening for Cameron in December!!!! Brian and I have an interview set up with her for this coming Sunday at 2 PM. Wish us luck!!!!

A Kappa in the area just brought dinner for us, which was so nice. I recently joined this Plano/Richardson Kappa Alumni group and one of the things they do is bring dinner to families with certain needs. This will be our 3rd meal from them and we could not be more grateful! Thank you to Erin and Julie who have already fed us. I look FW to helping out my fellow sisters in their times of need in the future.

This weekend, Brian's parents are coming to town and we're so excited to see them. I know they are dying to see Cameron and Cam is dying to see them!!!

Hope everyone's having a great week....

Cheers,
Lindley

There's just something about your mother......

I have thought a lot about this post.... my whole life, actually, and couldn't think of a better time to write it than right now. My beautiful mother left yesterday after being here for 2 weeks and although I was big girl and didn't cry when she left, I've not been such a big girl since. I've had several meltdowns, tears of sadness, tears of joy, tears of fear,....You name it I've had it. I cannot even begin to express how big of a help she was after Cameron was born. She hopped into the car the second Brian called and has been there for us hand and foot ever since. 2 full weeks. There's just something about your mother.... And, now that I have a daughter of my own, our friendship and relationship hits home even more so now knowing that I will hopefully be able to do this for Cameron one day. The saying, "moms just know" is so true. Mom comforted me when I was unsure, she helped when I asked for something, she cooked when we were hungry, she cleaned when we spilled something, she did laundry when we needed clothes, she rocked Cameron to sleep when I was so tired I could hardly see straight, she dressed her while I got ready for the day, she chauffeured me around when we had errands to run since I couldn't drive, she stayed up with Cameron for the last feeding so we could go to bed, she made food for us to freeze for later, she watered our flowers....the list goes on and on. Do u see now why I am so sad shes's gone??? And, please do not get me wrong.... We never once took her for granted or 'used' her because she was here. She did this all on her own because she wanted to. There's just something about your mother....

Mom, thank you for raising me the way you did and for loving me unconditionally. I now get to do that for Cameron and will never ever forget where I came from or what you taught us growing up. Be proud for what you've done and know I will be forever indebted to you and daddy. I love you with all that I have and cannot imagine my life without you.

Home!!!!!!!

Cameron got to come home this morning!!!! She's so content already and life is good! Back up to yesterday really quick though.... We brought home a blanket from the hospital so Nixie could nap and sleep with it so she's prepared for the "world-rocking" she had coming today. ;). Well, I come into the living room from the kitchen to find the below .... Brian's girls soooo have him wrapped around their little finger already ;)

This was our 'rooming in' room at the hospital on Sunday night. The fold out couch bed was really uncomfortable but it was nice to have our little girl all to ourselves without monitors, nurses, loud noises, bright lights, etc. She did great! I didn't really sleep gut did u expect me to?? ;)

Ready for her cute going home outfit!!!

Brian had patients this AM so it was just my mom and me heading home. B went to his office from the hospital this morning.

My discharge nurse, Brittany

Nixie not sure what to think.... She is already super protective over her baby sister

My precious niece and nephew made this coming home poster for Cam... So sweet!

Nice and content

We are all doing Great and just trying to get acclimated. My mother is a God send and has been cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, etc. She will have been here 2 wks this Friday. Thx Dad for letting me borrow her for a while... I couldnt have done it without her. Love u mom!!!
