We had some pretty serious storms in the metroplex Tuesday night! 17 tornadoes touched down & 600+ homes were destroyed, but there were no deaths and only about 10 injuries!!! God is good!!! We had to seek shelter at my office, and in my 11 years there, I've never had to do that! Pretty scary! We were in the gym bathroom, where there were no windows or outside walls remotely close to us, and we could hear the hail! Baseball size and shattered just about everyone's windshields at the office. I felt so bad for everyone. I was parked in the garage luckily. Juli was at Barnes & Noble's story time when the reader advised everyone to either seek shelter there or head home so, since she was just around the corner from our house, she headed home, straight into the storage closet. They were safe and sound. ;). Thanks for taking care of the babies Juli! Below is one of the many tornadoes that touched down. This one was in Lancaster, where the most damage occurred. Crazy!!!!
And, Cameron has learned a new word. We are getting there!!!! ;)
Born and raised in Plainview, TX, I graduated from PHS in 1997 & carried on a family TX Tech University tradition from 97-01. I got a bachelors degree in Marketing & moved to Dallas in June of '01 to work for my very first job with Staff Care, Inc. Who would have thought 2 West Texans, who knew a lot of the same people, would meet on Match.com and actually work out? Not me! Brian & I met on 9/19/08 & married at The Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas on 5/15/10 with 94 of our closest family & friends. We recently moved from Dallas to Lubbock be closer to family and allow Brian an opportunity to fulfill his lifelong dream of practicing dentistry out in W. Texas. He bought Dr. Ronald Phillips practice & we could not be more thankful for this opportunity. Our greatest joys are our babies: Cameron Elizabeth, age 3, Tess Leanne, 9 months, and Nixie, our first baby, a toy Schnauzer, who is 5. Life & God are good and we are blessed beyond measure. I have created this blog to capture moments with family & friends as tomorrow is never promised.
