So, a KKG alum friend of mine, Laura Vinson, is on the board for Ballet Lubbock and she got Cameron and I tickets to the Nutcracker last night and while Cameron had a great day yesterday, improving with every hour, I felt compelled to take her temp right before we went and sure enough... 101.8. My instinct was right. So, thousands of tears later, Brian made everything better by going to look at 'crystal lights.' The Doc told us we could go if she was feeling ok but I'm sure he also meant no fever with that as well. Sooo.. Needless to say, we didn't go but you better believe Cam asked to put the same outfit on this morning 9 minutes after she woke up so she could 'go to the ballet now that she's feeling better.' Bless her, I felt so bad. :(. She really wanted to go. I snapped the below photo this morning, she is feeling better but this flu thing is no joke!
My friend, Katie, who's also on the board, sent me this YouTube video that summarizes the Nutcracker in 5 minutes and Cam watched it over and over yesterday. There's always next year.....
We made a gingerbread house yesterday and had so much fun!!!
I think she like licking the icing he best!
She also performed several 'shows' for us and would tell us to clap for her when she finished. My Lord, I'm so glad she's not lacking in the confidence department.
And, in other news, this angel is growing up waaaay too fast!!!!!
Born and raised in Plainview, TX, I graduated from PHS in 1997 & carried on a family TX Tech University tradition from 97-01. I got a bachelors degree in Marketing & moved to Dallas in June of '01 to work for my very first job with Staff Care, Inc. Who would have thought 2 West Texans, who knew a lot of the same people, would meet on Match.com and actually work out? Not me! Brian & I met on 9/19/08 & married at The Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas on 5/15/10 with 94 of our closest family & friends. We recently moved from Dallas to Lubbock be closer to family and allow Brian an opportunity to fulfill his lifelong dream of practicing dentistry out in W. Texas. He bought Dr. Ronald Phillips practice & we could not be more thankful for this opportunity. Our greatest joys are our babies: Cameron Elizabeth, age 3, Tess Leanne, 9 months, and Nixie, our first baby, a toy Schnauzer, who is 5. Life & God are good and we are blessed beyond measure. I have created this blog to capture moments with family & friends as tomorrow is never promised.
